Dead Rising 4 is in development! This is awesome news! I played Dead Rising 3 to death, even though it performs terribly on my PC. I just hope this is not an Xbone/PC exclusive again and actually comes to PS4 this time around. If it's only Xbone and PC I'm going to have to either upgrade my PC or get an Xbone for this game.

It will be at E3 this year so that is something to look forward to at least.

Some new info has come to light:

Rumors of a new Dead Rising game have been floating around for a while now, and today it’s all but official: Dead Rising 4 is coming, and should be announced at E3 next week.

Images of the new Dead Rising game popped up on a site called ThisGenGaming this afternoon, and they appear to show Dead Rising star Frank West (who didn’t appear in Dead Rising 3) riding around in the snow. Although we’ve grown not to put much faith in blurry off-screen photos, I recently saw another shot of that same poster from a different source, which helps corroborate the leak.

We hear this game is set in Willamette, Colorado—the same location as Dead Rising 1—so it may be a remake of some sort. Xbox and PC would be a good bet as well. We’ll see more at Microsoft’s press conference on Monday.

I'm not too excited about the fact that "we'll see more at Microsoft's press conference". I really don't want this game to be an exclusive. If it is, I'm hoping for a timed deal with MS at least. Still, it's sounding interesting and I am looking forward to seeing the game in action.
 
Seems it is going to be Windows 10 and Xbone exclusive after all. Stupid MS and their endless bags of money.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out if this game is a MS exclusive or not. No definite info anywhere. A lot of sites only mention Xbone and Windows 10, but they didn't say anything about it being exclusive at the MS conference while they couldn't help but remind us of the exclusivity of other games every few seconds. I'm pretty sure it is an exclusive, but some official confirmation would be great.

It showed in the press conference that it was an Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive, pretty sure about that.

No, it didn't. It said "coming to Xbox One and Windows 10" not "exclusive to ..." like the other trailers. There was also no voice announcing exclusivity like the other games.

But weren't all previous iterations only on Xbox and Windows (Steam), so logic tells me it will probably follow the same form?

Nope. There was a version of the first game in Wii and Dead Rising 2 and its standalone expansion were both multi platform.

Timed exclusivity confirmed! I knew it! :D

Dead Rising 4 is set to release exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in December, but Microsoft has confirmed to GameSpot that the upcoming zombie game is only a timed-exclusive and could eventually make its way to PS4 and Steam. You can read Microsoft's statement below.

"'Dead Rising 4' on Xbox One is developed by Capcom and will be published in partnership with Microsoft. Fans will be able to play 'Dead Rising 4' first on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC this December. It will remain a Windows 10 exclusive for the first 90 days and console exclusive on Xbox One for one year. We’ve had a close and longstanding relationship with Capcom including the launch of Dead Rising as an Xbox 360 exclusive and Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive. We’re thrilled to partner with Capcom once again to help bring their ambitious vision for Dead Rising 4 to life."

Dead Rising 3 was exclusive to the Xbox One, until 10 months later when it released on PC. As part of a console-exclusivity deal with Microsoft, it never launched on PS4.

Capcom's next open-world zombie game was officially revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference after multiple leaks. It marks the return of the original game's protagonist and setting--you'll once again play Frank West as he revisits Willamette, Colorado.

Dead Rising 4 releases for Xbox One and PC on December 6.

Another timed-exclusive is Rise of the Tomb Raider, which initially released on the Xbox One last year, followed by a PC release months later. It's scheduled for a holiday 2016 release on PS4, though a specific date has not been confirmed.

The don't say PS4 outright, but I doubt it's coming to WiiU :p
