Playing games for fun

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
So my worst nightmare was realized about a week ago, but it might not have been all that bad after all.
I have been playing computer competitively since I have started gaming. i bought my made my steam account in 2005 to play CS competitively. it has been from Warcraft 3, HoN, LoL, Dota 2, Hots and many in between being in teams and playing comps, my heart lying with CS though.

You get very few teams that actually stick together and are dedicated. I was playing with 3 other guys in the same team for about 3 years now, and finding a 5th with also a problem. This held us back and made us take it out on each other, so badly that I decided it is not worth ruining a game and computers.

I decided to hang up my competitive gaming hat and get back to the heart and core of gaming. Gaming because it is fun, and that's about it.
My dad always says if you want to have fun, get a pony. Well maybe I should get a pony and play with it in between me gaming! =D

Welcome to the wonderful world of single player!! Grab an RPG and wonder and explore at your leisure! No rushing, no verbal abuse!
Its where we go to properly relax and never get annoyed. Almost.

Yes, MP has its place and moments but playing through a story where you play a pivotal role really is the bees knees.

I have some friends in clans etc. and it really sounds like a job/chore and if you have an off night or whatever, everyone is upset with you!
Thats not fun surely.

Exactly what happened here. I was the Manager, Captain and everything in between. Si I maintained our server and each profile in every tournament page.

The thing is I struggle with SP games. I still play CS for fun, still play dota and even started playing overwatch now. I won't be able to get the MP out of me yet =D
Might even start playing WoW again just for the hell of it

That's the only way to enjoy games. :-)

I play a game that suits my mood at the time. I watch Top Gun and I play Lock On to death. Or watch the first Need For Speed again and the mood for NFS Underground just hits.

I do not care about the age of the game, winning or losing - just having fun. Have spend some wonderful weekends playing some arcade games on Mame with someone. Hell, I hooked up DosBox and played Death Rally with three others over LAN the other day. Epic fun.

The small amount of me being able to play online BF 2,3,4 - the fun for me was staying alive and take my time to catch a flag, sneak some knife stabs and blow up armor vehicles. Trying to outwit rather than outplay.

You should change your name from Flex to Grindy McGrind haha!

Or you are one of those social butterfly yet ultra competitive types who feels like a game is dead if theres no real people in them?

Wow... you summed me up in one sentence right there bud! =D
There are VERY few RPG games that have kept my attention for very long. Half Life, Bioshock, Assassins Creed. Can't really think of any other at this moment. But that is how short my list is.

Flex do yourself a favour and download the Indivisible Prototype Demo hook up a controller and just have fun. :)

Hehe... The general idea of gaming is to have fun. MP can be really fun, but I tend to alternate with frequency.

Funnily, GTA Online is one of few MP games that doesn't make me upset (all that often), it can just become boring (to a degree), hackers and modders also being an issue.

yeah, GTA V public online is just a waste of time, You really need a group of friend to properly enjoy GTA V.
Multiplayer is always more fun, Single player with a good story is ok but knifing or sniping another player in multiplayer is just the best.

Sorry, only saw this thread now. But bring me to a follow up question; How else would you play games?

Competitively. And I actually love it. Strange I know, but I like the structure and the competitive nature of it, just finding a constant team that is a headache.

For example with CSGO. We had set Strat Days, Set Friendly Game Days, Set messing around days and Set Match days. And I like it that way.

But that is the kind of characteristic I have. I do everything a bit too competitive and full out. Nothing in between. Probably why so few SP captivate me

damn, that sounds positively shite. I'm far too rebelious for that.

Punk rock till I die:D LOL

seriously though, how is it going not competing?
