This guys channel is pretty informative on the subject. Apples support of their products is such bullshit.

yeah, i watched on of his repairs on an apple laptop, and his explanation of how badly designed it is, and then they charge you half the value of the laptop to repair it. Absolute bullshit, really hope this law get passed.

It's not that big a deal, the guy I posted a video of gets all his parts from old machines. And it's not like the parts apple uses are specific to apple, i'm sure you can get just as good quality if not better parts that are not officially from Apple.
