The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I had 'Again', the FMA brotherhood intro as a ringtone once. One day during a test , my cell rang and disrupted everyone, I was enjoying the song so much I almost forgot to silence it, Sorry not Sorry :p

Lol, you got me listening to some of the soundtracks in my music collection now :)

Have you guys seen the new One Piece OP? I've seen some negatives on it online but I'm loving it. This may have been influenced a lot by the footage (Jack & Kaido) but I don't hate the song, so it must be ok at least. Thoughts?

I noticed some of those files are only 120Mb must be trimmed down MP4's to save space.

The smallest files I have right now are Inuyasha episodes at around 50MB per 480p episode, and the very tiny Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou which is is less than 30MB per episode, also 480p. Both are x264 and pretty good quality as you can see in the screenshot. A few years ago these would've been 175MB to 250MB each episode for similar quality using ogg or avi containers.

It's a filler arc used to somewhat promote the new film as well. I just skip it after I have seen it once or twice, OP is the only anime I know of that has a full OP song and no ED at all.

I can imagine in high action sequences there is some kind of drop in quality as movement = more data/bandwidth. Unless it's 10bit and has a lot of still scenes and less complex things happening on screen. Inu Yasha is old so grain and ring is definitely apparent in the screen shot. My Inuyasha is 220mb with Dual audio and 3 sub tracks (for some reason)

Like you mentioned a while back, One Piece fillers are pretty good. With the exception of episodes featuring the Foxy pirates, which I skip without any reservation, anyone not familiar with the manga might have a hard time identifying every filler episode, even the most obvious ones fit so well with the overall flow of the story.

There's definitely some compromise, you can tell the slight difference in quality when you compare my screenshot with yours.

*EDIT*

But it's still quite remarkable seeing such a large drop in file size resulting in such a tiny drop in quality. For me it's an acceptable compromise.

Foxy Pirates was probably the worst in One Piece history. These current fillers don't seem to be too bad and could probably be over sooner than we think.

Judging by today's instalment, it'll only be a few more episodes, unless there's a stronger mastermind behind that whole operation. We did see a rather suspicious fellow towards the end of last week's episode after all, that neko-looking guy with the big head. The reference made to the "monster of the new world" could be Kaido, or maybe someone else?

I am not too sure why they have the new films antagonists in the series, other than to promote the film, or the series is a build up to the film itself since many of the earlier films took place between the major arcs

Can anyone recommend some good manga? Trying to get into it with Zingbox. Currently busy with Gantz. Really into immersion and comedy

Try God of High school and Tower of God for some Manhwa/webtoons, they read left to right and comes on scrolls as opposed to books. Both are really good and long too! Additionally there is Seven Deadly Sins, Berserk (since you are enjoying Gantz) Kingdom, Nisekoi and perhaps Drifters.

Assassination class room is not as dark as it sounds, but it's not as slap-stick as one would think. It falls somewhere in the middle and manages to do both extremely well. Offering thrilling action and suspense as well as managing to keep it's happy and sunny demeanor.

Class E-3 is the worst performing academics in their school, enter Koro-sensai an supposed alien who blew up the moon and can travel at mach 20. He tasks his class with one goal; to assassinate him before their graduation in a years time the only problem the class seems to have, is that Koro-sensei an amazing teacher as well as brings out the best in each of his students! Koro-sensei teaches a lot more than middle school, he teaches his students about life.
It might appear that there is the whole cliched character development and betterment of everyone in the series, since it's based around a school. While this is true there is just something about it, that travels way beyond all of that and makes it even better.

It's split into 2 seasons, well worth watching!

It starts exactly where the final episode ended! New style of animation. Some new voice actors for the characters, but it's been so long since I watched it It does not bother me as much.

Oddly enough it is the first thing i noticed even though it has been 3 years since i watched the last animation, the different style and the voices sounding a little peculiar, plus Allen is taller than what he was in the last season. I don't remember him having purple eyes. Oh, yes and Miranda is quite different too not as gothic as she was before. It is a shame that i already know how it will all play out, won't prevent me from enjoying it though. :D

Then it's definitely a build up to the film. Normally One Piece films don't get me too excited but this coming one does :)
