The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

You poor, patient soul...

Also, finished Iron Blooded Orphans last night. Truly one of the best character studies I've seen in a mecha anime :).

Mika is really interesting, he blindly follows Orga's orders without question and feels zero remorse in any of his actions. Due to his circumstances knew nothing of a normal life, the only thing he really knows what to do is fight and kill. This is seen in the fight with Crank, he was killed without a second though, despite Crank stating he was ashamed that he had to fight children. When he is told he likes killing he becomes enraged at the notion of it. Possibly because he believes it is necessary to win, giving rise to the idea that he is not and never will be diplomatic. This makes him extreamly fierce and loyal to friends. How ever when it came to the more personal characters like Kudelia and Atra he was uncertain on how to approach their emotions and different feminine personalities. He feels like a slightly more developed Kira from Wing and similar to Setsuna from 00.

PSA: No Naruto this week! Fillers the following week (21st) and then back to canon (28th).

Please let this be the last of it. I can't take this anymore, speculation at present puts the conclusion in August if they are to animate the reaming chapters at 3 per an episode. I do suspect there to some filler during the final confrontation of Naruto and Sasuke. TV Tokyo sure is milking this cow all the way to the bank.

You the real mvp. Vote Glordit for anime club president. He endures the fillers so you don't have to! :p:D

Anyway Glordit, so I'm like going to finish off Mobile Suit Gundam 00 pretty soon. Now, I wonder what other anime shows you might be able to recommend in the same vein as Kids on the Slope, and Your lie in April as I really enjoyed them with the odd tear flowing (what I just did is throw a genre curveball, can you still field a homerun? Why am I making baseball metaphors? Oddest thing). So what say you?

I am now only watching out of support for the show, I know how it's going to end but I at least want to see it through to the end.

Series:
Plastic Memories and Clannad which are fairly similar to Your Lie in April.
Nagi no Asukara is fairly decent and has an incredible story.
Isshuukan Friends might come across as cliche but is also good.
My Love Story is more of a comedy but it's got a lot of heart, Nisekoi is similar but more shonen comedy meets harem. There is also Honey and Clover for a convoluted love story.
Ano Hanna will break you in two, I guarantee it!
Golden time more comedic than anything else but it's got a lot of good parts in it.

Films:
Hotarubi no Mori e is a nice short film as well really well written, similar to that of 5cm per a second.
The Win Rises is another really good drama, amazing conclusion to it too.
Colourful, a bit different but it's premise works well to make a great film.

Then you have others like Koi Kaze, His and Her circumstances, Maison Ikkoku (late 80's a bit long but really good) and Wondering son.

Thanks man, I'll check those out. Almost done watching Honey and Clover actually, and it's pretty good.

Also, RE: Naruto. I tried last year, but when I came to realize that we'd only gotten 8 or 9 canon episodes the entire year? I was like nope. I'll wait for them, especially since I'd finished the manga a while back.

Yea it's really sad, that it had to come this fillers for almost a year simply to extend the air time of it the show. I thought it would not be like Bleach but it became exactly that.

I stopped watching Naruto a loooooong time ago. Read the necessary parts in the Manga. So I'm good.

I also stopped for a while, but ended up deciding to watch monthly a while ago, or when ever I have nothing else to watch. I wanna let the last few episodes stack up real good though, there are some scenes I can't wait to see animated.

Don't get me started on Bleach... Who knows, maybe the current arc in the manga is really good? But I stopped reading it just after the chapter where we saw Kenpachi's shikai.

IBO SEASON 2 HYPE!

Hype!!!!! :D

I stopped shortly after that, I felt like every chapter was just dragged out unnecessarily, it was going no where and when something finally did happen it switched to something else.

Is Gundam Build Fighters any good? Looks like it's not all about war and the like as most Gundam series tend to be.

It's Gunpla battles. It's like Yu-Gi-Oh! but instead of cards they use Gundam models. There are quite a few Gundam models spaning from 0079 all the way up to 00.

Hmm... So, is it good?

Truth be told, I have not watched it yet. Opinion on it is that it was (at the time) better than anything else Gundam related, Reconguista and AGE comes to mind. Of wich I have yet to see, I know Reconguista was slammed for a lack of plot clarity but It can't be as bad as Wing.

Kids on the Slope is in no way perfect, it has a somewhat generic cookie cutter shonen high school feel to it, but that's okay. The formula seems to make it work better because I could not imagine it being anything else. The vastly different characters do not take up the standard roles you would expect to see. A misunderstood and wild student, a shy transfer student and a female classmate who is always there for them. Their differences work well to create some really good and solid interactions. Granted some of them are fairly easy to spot and pick up, which can frustrate you a little. This is specially so with the crossed wires and mixed emotions but, they are teenagers so it is to be expected. I never felt bored watching it, and every episode flowed really well into the next, despite that is is set over a period of 3 years. Kids on the slope is good, very good, and well worth your time.
