Do you all complete the optional/side missions as well? I find myself wanting to complete every mission showing on my mission tab.

I am forcing my self to skip a lot of the side missions, found I can set them to ignore in the mission log. Although if I find my self in an area with 3 or 4 mission I try to complete them, especially if they are a high enough level mission and if they offer eridium as a reward, also robbing train missions are good for loads of money so I do those too. Some of the kill a # of x I take and as I travel though the world I normally end up killing the necessary foe, then just hand it in when I end up back at sanctuary.

Also if you don't do them on time they can be almost useless. I got a lvl 8 mission in my log and I am now lvl 30 so any weapon I get is worthless. I'll probably do it just to hear the story behind it some of them can be funny.

I only completed as many as needed to be at the level required to progress through the story missions.

I didn't really want to be over-levelled for the main story.

I need to try and play again, just struggling to concentrate currently. Good on all of you that are progressing so much!

You are welcome to join me. We don't need to concentrate. We just go guns blazing and kill everything we can find. :)

I will keep that in mind! What is a good starting level for THVM?

Level 31 is the recomended level to start TVHM. It can be done when you are 29/30 but might struggle a bit with Captain Flynt and Midge Mon, rather do the side quests before advancing to get more XP.

Additionally: Jump into Mr. Torque's DLC it's fun and pretty quick, it also scales with your current level.
Make sure to do Finks Slaughter House and Moxxi's Ore Chasm Arena's for extra XP.
Spoiler: show
You can famr the Vault Monster a couple of time for some loot and lots of XP

Awesome thank you! I'm currently at 31 so I will do some of that stuff and start TVHM at 32 for a smoother start.

Thats why I think I might be falling behind the rest. I only have a few hours a week to play but I just HAVE to do all the missions! What if I miss THAT ONE GUNᵗᵐ somewhere???

Correct, which is tough as nails, even with my level 61 commando I struggle to kill some of the basic enemies.

Yeah I am probably not going to get that deep in to it. I've been playing a lot with sniper rifle but smg and machine guns are a lot of fun so we'll see how I feel with more tanky playthrough.

But new games are on the horizon so borderlands may just end up back in the vault in the not to distant future.

Yep, but that's what Borderlands is all about...... The Guns :)
