Too many elements going on there. You can't focus on the ghost and controller motifs at the same time and the striking red in "my" and the "i" continually draws your eyes all over the logo.If change must happen I added my vote to #2 . But as others have suggested, not entirely convinced by any of these options to be honest.
The teardrop thing looks familiar to many because, as MalicE points out, it is pretty well used. First thing I thought of when I saw it was the Withings app icon on my phone:

The gradient colour scheme thing is a bit meh too. I think the strong red and blue of the existing logo should be kept.
I understand the intention of perhaps starting to reposition the sites' identity towards a more serious and professional games journalism look-and-feel, but InSanity's "pretentious business logo" point is valid.
It's still a gaming site for gamers and games are supposed to be fun. The brand identity needs to retain some of the fun of the existing one. I'm not sure how - Wenzdayz idea of keeping the ghost in there somehow is exactly what I mean. There needs to be some continuity linking old to new.

I don't like any of them. Plus a new logo would make my MyGaming t-shirts irrelevant which I'm not very happy about.
I actually kind of like the third one, but I could not help but wonder, what the hell is mya>mina and what does it have to do with gaming?
If the g's and a were more obvious that would definitely get my vote.

I like the first one the most, then the third. The first one looks awfully familiar though!
