[MyGame] Game 3 Voting

I think I'll try joining this round. My life is pretty erratic, but there has crept some semblance of normality back into it.

My votes:

1. Batman: Arkham City
2. XCOM: Enemy Unknown
3. Shadowrun Returns

Reminds of the one year at Woodstock in Heidelberg when they had Nia Nel performing on the one stage while Sarin Gas (now Seether) was performing on another. Nobody went to see poor Nia. She literally sang for her sound guy and at that point in time she was singing stuff that actually would have gone down well with that type of crowd.

Batman is a nice choice , Arkham City is bigger with more to do than Arkham Asylum. I could play the game again I think I have the +game mode to complete a second time. I completed All the Arkham Games multiple times, except for Origins I just can't complete it even just the main story.

Okay, so I have my reservations of joining the next one, as it will be the time of the release of Deus Ex Mankind Divided, but it depends what game is selected. I'll vote for the following:

1. The Banner Saga
2. Max Payne 3
3. South Park: The Stick of Truth

Okay, so opinion time on the discussed topics:

- Single vs multi game sessions -
The MyGame should be one game at the time, as playing multiple games would shift the focus on too many games. The point of what MyGame should stand for is that it is like a book club, where the members all play a game, regardless of them liking it, and creating an opinion about it and broadening their gaming horizons. Too often do we get into our own little comfort zones, even in gaming, and we tend to not challenge ourselves to play something we would not normally play. The MyGame club is that opportunity to get out of our comfort zones. I never even thought I would ever play a single moment of a Dark Souls game, yet because of this MyGame club, I did play it. I didn't finish it, but at least I tried. And that's what the MyGame club means to me.

- Single vs Co-op vs Multiplayer games -
While playing with people is a lot of fun, and the banter over TS is funny and entertaining, we should not limit ourselves to either one of the type of games. Again, coming from my above comment, the challenge is to play something you would most probably not play, be that a story single player game, or a all out multiplayer battle. While it would be fun, it should not limit the options at all.

Well, I don't think Batman: AC will win since most people have probably played it already but it's been on my to-do list for a while so why not?

Ja, I think Hammer hit the nail on the head with his opinions. And to add to that, I'd love to play Trackmania against the fellow basement dwellers of MyG but to get enough people online at a specific time would be like herding cats.

There's still time to vote until Tuesday. So get your votes in or change your votes if you want to see a different game win!

Currently the top games with their points are:
14 - Shadowrun Returns
10 - Max Payne 3
9 - Batman Arkham City, Dark Souls 2
8 - Psychonauts
7 - Dishonered, Grim Dawn

Because votes can still change you can change the outcome. For instance if I change my top vote to Psychonauts and someone else does too then Psychonauts will also be at 14 points. So go crazy!
Jan, you haven't voted yet!

My votes:

1. Transistor
2. Bastion
3. Psychonauts

Keeping a record of my previous number 2 and 3 picks for future reference.
Spoiler: show

 • Mass Effect + DLC
 • Bioshock Infinite + Burial at Sea

Psychonauts has been in my backlog for years, so it would be nice to finally cross it off. Transistor and Bastion I've started, but never finished. Always got distracted by something else.

With the Mass Effect Andromeda hype machine kicking in, I'm keen on playing through the series again... Maybe even as a NG+ if I can track down my old saves.

BioShock Infinite is a game I think everyone should experience, and one I wouldn't mind replaying.

That said, Shadowrun, Batman, and Grim Dawn are all games I wouldn't mind giving a go. Dishonored falls in the same category as BioShock Infinite for me - a game I think everyone should experience and wouldn't mind replaying.

So I went to check out Psychonauts and, what do you know, it's in my library since 2012/12/21. I always got confused between Scribblenauts (not a bad game, but I never got into it) and Psychonauts for some reason. No idea why "whistling:
And it actually seems pretty good, so I'm changing my vote because I think most people have already played Arkham City:

1. Psychonauts
2. XCOM: Enemy Unknown
3. Shadowrun Returns

Solitude Is this ok or would you prefer I change my original post?

It's okay. :)

I think I'll change my vote to Psychonauts too with the hope of dethroning Shadowrun Returns.

Pfft I have no idea what you are talking about. :p

Also I'm using a spreadsheet provided by Blazzok. Blaz, if you've got time can you maybe check to see if I made any mistakes? It's on your original document, sheet 2.

This could change

1. Borderlands 1
2. The incredible adventures of Van Helsing
3. Shadowrun Returns

Okay changing my vote around.

1. Shadowrun Returns
2. Borderlands 1
3. The incredible adventures of Van Helsing
