General gaming chit chat.

So I see this happened...

Tomb Raider Raided: Denuvo DRM Allegedly Cracked
Rise of the Tomb Raider [official site] might finally be cracked six months after its release. A step-by-step video showing a cracked copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider surfaced in Russia last week. It raises the question of whether or not pirates will finally be able to defeat Denuvo’s DRM security – protection so tough that some crackers said they were giving up. The crack has yet to be replicated, though, and it’s unlikely to happen any time soon.

Denuvo say they can’t verify if the crack is real as there are no available to test, but they don’t seem to be too stressed about the whole ordeal. The DRM company told Eurogamer “only public available cracks are relevant as they harm the content owners business.” In fact, they seem to be perfectly satisfied with Rise of the Tomb Raider’s protection.

“The general positioning of our product is ‘hard to crack’ and not ‘uncrackable’. For us it is important to secure the initial sales window of games, which worked out well on all the recent titles,” they confidently pointed out to PCGamesN.

It’s doubtful that this marks the end of Denuvo’s impressive record against PC gaming piracy. Where games were once cracked sometimes weeks before they were released, big titles like Just Cause 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition have gone months post-launch without a pirated version. Pirates will always be out there on the high seas of the interwebs doing their thing, but they’re still struggling with breaking down Denuvo’s defenses. It’s possible they could find a more efficient solution in the future, yet it’s likely Denuvo is preparing for that reality. The technology is designed to evolve alongside any new methods devised to break through the DRM.

Can you not remember what email address you used or is it a problem on their side?

I tried all 3 emails, but I'm positive it is linked to my Gmail account.

Edit: It seems to accept my email (Gmail), but then asks for the serial key and character name.
Is there a way to check your character's names without logging in?

Why TAF is my character's name a prerequisite for resetting the password?!

Edit 2: Submitted a 2nd ticket.

Anyone playing Guild Wars 2. What is the size of your folder?

Mine in 19.3GB, from many years ago...

I am going to be taking my GTAV and Online experience back to the PS3.
Downloading 60+GBs in the hope that I don't encounter errors is a risk I'm not willing to take.

If I can make ISOs of someones' original (retail) version of GTAV and install it that way, I will consider going back to PC.

New Splinter Cell in Development With Michael Ironside Returning?
Regarding other games, I haven't been involved with Steep or Wildlands, but I was surprised Splinter Cell didn't appear at E3. I know Ironside is back. He was in the studio, I said Hi to him and his daughter. He was shooting a movie with Amy Jo Johnson, and I know someone who worked on that set and Ironside confirmed to him he was doing the new Splinter Cell. I know Toronto has the mocap studio for it.I'm hoping to hear or see something unofficial, if not official, this year, but its been hard to get anything beyond "It's Happening"

This would be fucking awesome!!! I love this franchise, and specifically because of Ironside.

To throw a date on this: I did see Ironside and one his daughters at the TO studio last summer. This was just good timing, as I was there on other business.
I have two sources who worked on the set of The Space Between (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4682922/), which was shooting in TO. Ironside mentioned he was working on a new Splinter Cell. One source is someone I trust, the other is an acquaintance by degrees.
The movie shoot overlapped the same week as my encounter. As I understand it, he was here for the movie first and worked in the studio visit while in town.
None of us is bound by NDA over this, given our connections and circumstances, but it still feels shady to talk about since it's not official. I was surprised I hadn't seen this news from someone else by now, to be honest.
I know UbiSoft TO has a wonderful new mocap studio.
While I did express disappointment it wasn't shown at E3, this thing could be early along. I haven't seen actual in-game assets or production assets for myself (like the Syndicate extra timeline story). I don't know who is making it. I know other dev studios have used the mocap studio.
Remember Ubisoft studios collaborate often. The TO studio contributed content to Watch_Dogs 2, and For Honor also takes up a chunk there. I'd like to say this was another TO take on the franchise, but I will not until I know more.

Supercontinent Ltd is a narrative adventure about making phone calls in a distant future's rainy night.

You play a merc sent to gather intel on a criminal organisation in the grim cyberpunk future, only to find they don’t use computers but some form of obsolete hardware called a… tell-o-phone?

Luckily, you’ve brought along voice-changing software (to bypass voice passwords, obviously). Once you’ve figured out which way up to hold the tell-o-phone, you can start trying to find out more about the shady Supercontinent Ltd by phoning its members. You’re using social engineering to uncover a web of people, faking voices to find out who’s in the organisation, getting more numbers to phone more people, gathering data to fake more voices, finding the right questions to ask, and slowly figuring out what’s going on.
