Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - The Mechanical Apartheid

Are people not allowed to express its fine for them? or are people only allowed to complain about the game?

Of course they are. The issue is the exact opposite. People like Joker dismissing complaints as "people being so fucking thick" when they're running monster PCs themselves. Or is that okay according to you? Are people only allowed to praise the game?

apologies, thought you were referring to me. Totally my misunderstanding, sorry. Of course we shouldn't dismiss these issues. I am surprised there are so may performance issues. I don't exactly have a monster PC, only got the min 8 gigs of ram, my card isn't bad but not great at a R9 290.

Especially considering HR was such a good port back in the day. It seems a good game otherwise, but unplayable for me until they at the very least fix the stuttering (which I strongly suspect is a memory leak) and mouse acceleration.

I was specifically referring to people with 970's, 980's GTX1070's moaning that they can't max the game. Also people on steam "claim" they have monster pc's when in fact most of the time they're talking shit. I didn't dismiss bugs or issues, I just said that I hadn't encountered any bugs or issues (Mouse movement is a bit meh but that's it)

I saw countless posts, listing issues but when asked about issues they either vanish or sprout bullshit. Like the guy claiming his 1080 can't run the game at more than 30 fps, when in fact that's exactly what I'm using and I'm running the game perfectly fine at an avg of 52fps @1440P. What is the issue there? Is it the game that's broken? Not optimized? No it's because he is THICK as fuck and trying to run the game with multi sampling AA.

Or how about the crowd of people saying this port is the same quality as Arkham Knight, which is total and utter bullshit.

Just to be fair, I asked every mate of mine that's played at least 2 hours or more whether they've encountered any serious issues and out of the 6 only 1 had a serious complaint about textures turning black or vanishing completely (Happened a few times and now he is waiting for a fix or patch)

Yeah I also want to walk away from PC gaming, but mainly because pc gamers are entitled little bitches that whine and moan about everything.

Patch just released 77.9MB

[24-08-2016] PC Patch notes for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Patch build 524.7
We have just released the first PC patch for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, v1.0 build 524.7. This patch focusses on critical issues users ran into immediately following release.

This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client or manually look for updates in the Windows Store.

The following fixes are in this patch:
• Fixed crashes caused by third-party programs interfering with the game.
• Fixed crash that occurred after viewing the intro videos.
• Fixed issue that could cause a crash at the end of the Prague intro scene.
• Fixed mouse invert setting not being displayed correctly in the options menu.

Note about performance
We are seeing people reporting performance issues when playing the game on Very High/Ultra settings with MSAA set to 2x, 4x, or 8x. We would like to emphasize again that these options are very demanding.
We recommend everyone that is running at recommended spec or higher to start with the High Preset and MSAA turned off, and then tweak the options to optimize your experience.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we have made a Beta available on Steam, v1.0_build 524.6, that can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

Another cause for concern is an in-game store (microtransactions?), can anyone comment on this?

There are? Didnt even know, was pleasantly surprised to see the Season Pass selling for R250 on STEAM. Not to say DLCs are great, we all know how bad they can go, but at that price, no too shabby if they add more stuff.

I see two DLCs

Assault Pack DLC
Prepare to advance and assault the enemy with a custom skinned Battle Rifle, two packs of regular Battle Rifle ammo, one pack of armor piercing Battle Rifle ammo, 2 Frag Grenades, 2 EMP Grenades, 500 Weapon Parts, and 1 Praxis Kit, using the included Chaff Augmentation to give you a few extra seconds to escape the proximity of nearby explosives. Strike quickly and with aplomb, eliminating the enemy before they even know what hit them.

Tactical Pack DLC
Using distance to your advantage, eliminate your targets silently with a custom skinned Tranquilizer Rifle, one pack of tranquilizer ammo, 3 Smoke Grenades, 2 Gas Grenades, 500 Weapon Parts, and 1 Praxis Kit, with the included Micro Assembler Augmentation working to decrease the cost of your weapon upgrades. Close the gap quickly, and get to your objective without stirring the hornets nest.

Yeah, port was not bad at all, I hardly had any issues.

I got no issues with the Season Pass, and seems like good value to at that price. But looking at the user reviews on Steam I read things like:

The mere presence of an in-game store on a single player game is an insult to the playerbase, the franchise, and just plain common decency.

and

Microtransactions in singleplayer. You can buy upgrades and credits for real money.

Or is the above with reference to the DLC Assault and Tactical Packs?

You did say (and I quote verbatim) "It's a good port" despite running it on a PC way above what the average gamer will have. This isn't an issue of people trying to max the game on average PCs. It's an issue of people with top-end hardware getting poor frames regardless of settings. That doesn't sound like a good port to me.

Micro-transactions shop built into the game itself:

No idea what effect it has on the game itself, but it's still shitty that it's there at all. There was lots of shouting when Dead Space 3 did it in 2013, but now it seems to have become acceptable.

Yeah I also mentioned my mate running it on a much lower spec card than a 1080 and running it fine without issue.

If anything it seems the game does have a cpu scaling issue. Could be that the game actually uses MT/HT and it's not playing well with lower spec cpu's (i5's ect). I personally haven't noticed a memory leak issue (although I've only played about 2 hours). Other than that I can't seem to pick up on anything else.

At least Square Enix haven't gone quiet and are addressing issues and pushing out patches unlike say Warner Bros...Anyway I hope everyone having legitimate issues get it sorted because the game is amazing.

As for the micro transaction thing...I think it'll make the game a cake walk if you do make use of it. You can pretty much buy yourself a ton of praxis points and quickly become overpowered (Spoils the game as far as I'm concerned).

So this being in a single player game, has no way of making one player better than another?

I personally then have no problem with this as it's the users onus then if they choose to waste their own money on such transactions. That's like buying crates/boxes on Overwatch and saying it's stupid. It's a users' choice and willingness to do so.

Quite enjoyed this...

On a more real note; I think I might get it this weekend, how big was the Steam download?

It's 23GB including the DLC. Apart from day 1 crashes that I solved by updating my drivers, the game runs fine for me. It's averaging around 55 - 75 frames per second with all settings on High. So far the game is pure Deus Ex and I'm loving it.

This is exactly what I love about it. Pure Deus Ex back to it's roots and/or heritage. Loving the look of it and always been a fan, but definitely a PC buy in my opinion.

Yes, this is a great Deus Ex experience. I am so happy with this game I could cry. The game feels like a well produced big-budget series, the side missions are as complex as what I did in Witcher 3. The gameplay feels amazing, and the new augs fit in well. Currently playing the game very slowly as I am exploring every inch of the map. There are so many different secrets waiting to be discovered. The side missions have also been keeping me very busy. I'm still in Prague and have been exploring the city for about 5 hours now. The side missions also hit me in the feels as well. Was a rather harrowing choice to make.

I don't know folks, technical issues aside, I'm just not feeling this one. It's like I keep trying to get into it but every time I launch it my mind wanders and I go do something else. Steam records I've had it running for 12 hours but in that time I've done the tutorial, 3 side quests and just started on the first main mission. I keep alt-tabbing out to do other things because the game just can't keep my attention. I really don't know why because it seems a solid game otherwise.

I think I'll maybe put this one on the backburner and look at it again when the remaining DLC is out.

Guess you can't request a refund then.
