Giving a game a 2nd chance

Have you ever played a game and bounced off it only to later, maybe a few weeks, months or even years later try it again and this time find yourself totally engrossed in it?

Have you ever found a game to be much more enjoyable when you gave it a 2nd chance?

The only example I can thing of right now is Minesweeper. Every now and then I would click around and get blown up and then leave it at that. But one day I decided I was going to learn to play the game properly. Once I did I became quite hooked to the simple game. Many times it was my go to, where I could just chill out and think while I clicked tiles around the bombs. I don't really play it any more, but for that time I was into it I really enjoyed it.

Fear series Def... I want to play them again but won't work on my pc

Diablo 3........ was a nightmare to play within the first week. Waited a month or so and tried it again just to finish the story..... still thought it was bad.

Tried it again just before the expansion dropped and was amazed at how much better it had gotten.

You could say that only after my Third attempt at Diablo Three it started enjoying it..... ;)

See what I did there? Huh huh?!?! :D

Yeah..... I'll leave now.......

Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning.

My first character was a stealthy rogue and I lost interest after about 7 hours. The game is huge, almost MMO like, and stealthily sneaking through it backstabbing enemies got really tedious.

Tried again two years later with an aoe mage and really enjoyed blitzing through it. Could appreciate the story more.

I was not pleased with the "Undead Nightmare" DLC at first. I took the time to play RDR and SSX , it was only after that I 'completed' those two, that I then decided to play UN again. I actually enjoyed it as much as I did RDR.

I've played only a few hours of this game, although I've heard that it is great if you can stick with it.

I'm keen to give it a second try at some point :)

I'd say I had a few experiences like that. Remember old Syndicate games, by Bullfrog, was awesome. Then a few years ago, they released a new FPS one. Played the opening scene and quit the game. Wasn't impressed. Then a year later, I popped it back in the Xbox and played it through over a few days. Still not an awesome game, but way better than I thought in my first run.

Mass Effect. Started the 1st, couldnt get into it. My brother was playing the 2nd and wouldnt shutup about it. Started ass first with the 2nd game as in 2, 1 and then the 3rd.
