Thread based not quite the colossal cave adventure

So no real rules here. We're telling a story. Each response will either be a description/response or an action.

Basic flow will be <description/response> <action> <description/response based off action> everybody plays, everybody wins and nobody dies

I'll kick it off with the tried and tested :

You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building.
Around you is a forest. A small stream flows out of the building and
down a gully.

You clamber for your lighter, stumbling and chilled to the bone.

You see a small wooden table and chair, too small for a human but it looks sturdy enough. On the table there is a lamp and a small dagger. Against the wall you see a sword and shield. a pot is suspended over a fireplace, however it does not look like the fireplace has been used in a while.

Upon further inspection, the light from the flame obscures your vision and you hit your head on what seems to be an unusually low ceiling. But a mural above the fireplace captures your gaze, you stare at it and all the while you have the feeling of being pulled closer. There appears to be movement within the painted figures.

You move closer to you mural, your senses tense up as you notice the movement again... You release a sigh as you realize that the movement, is the light flickering upon it. Your gaze is fixed upon the mural but you can't make out much detail. It is crudely painted onto the wooden wall, and it appears that the paint had faded into the wood. Time and nature had taken the remainder which had not set in. Your attention is drawn back to the lamp on the table... If it can be lit, perhaps you could see the mural in greater detail.

Light the lamp and throw it at the mural like a Molotov cocktail

The lamp burst into flames against the mural. Flames start forming all around a central figure. The figure seems to be a form of map, but it's not entirely completed. It shows a building of some sorts in the middle, with trees and what would appear to be rocks around it. There is a stripe that looks like it could be a river or a stream moving from the building into a part of the map that's overgrown by plants. The flames starts dying out, but a final line starts forming, leading away from the building to what appears to be a cave. As the last light of the flames dies out, a gush of air rushes into the room, smelling foul and mouldy. The airflow originates from a hole in the wall that has appeared right behind you.

You gasp for air as the wind writhes along your back, at first you hesitate and shout as if someone or something was there, "Hello? Anyone there?!". As if you expected there to be any form of response.

You hear a faint cry for help coming, it seems o be coming from the other side of the hole. It sounds like it is quite a distance away.

I'm so confused as to the format of this....is OP like a dungeon master, and we issue commands? or does everyone "add" to the damn story!?

Everyone shapes the story with either commands or story. So basically :

<Poster 1> You see an axe
<Poster 2> Pick up axe
<Poster 3> The axe disintegrates in your hands
<Poster 1> Search the remains of the disintegrated axe
<Poster 3> You find a small screw

etc etc etc, kinda going until we break the forum
