Responding to the incident, Spur said that it will be doing a full audit of all games, and made it clear to all franchisees that all game consoles other than PlayStations and Xboxes must be removed.

Nice kneejerk reaction right there, however how are they going to ensure that the XBOX and PlayStation titles are age appropriate?

Will Spur have parental controls enabled on their Xbox and Playstation systems to ensure that titles not deemed appropriate cannot be played? Will this be the sames across the board for all Spur franchises? So many questions, so much room to cause them headaches.

It seems to a face-saving exercise. Based on the response to Spur's statement, parents wanted to see swift and reassuring action, and Spur gave it to them.

Yup, being a parental myself I applaud their swift action, the IT part of me just sees it as a bit harsh. It does seem like a quality control process failed somewhere along the lines.

Uhm, yes but.

vs

the hyper realistic graphics *can* be an issue for minors. Also even when gratuitous violence and gore is not an issue, language can also be an issue. Language in games, even if the violence level is seriously toned down, can still be an issue for some. Also sexual themes can be troublesome.
