[MyGame] Grim Dawn

Decided to start a new character seeing as I'm beginning to understand the system a bit more. Went with Nightblade and feeling a little different already, I might stick with this for the time being and pair it with a Soldier.

Are loot drops specific to your class or just random?

I think that Xiphan said he has that one. GG for that.

Yep. It's my second rarest achievement on Steam. :)

To get it I levelled up a ranged character to level 10, I think I used a demolitionist, then force-ran past everything to get to the Warden's lab. Be prepared to spend about 10 minutes or more kiting him because that is the only way I think you can do it. At level 10 the Warden will be level 18 and you need to dodge all of this attacks all the while getting in as many of your own, which will look like they are dealing no damage at all. :p

Seems fitting...

Titan AE! I fracking LOVE that movie!

Got some time in to play a little this evening. Need to go to the wardens house, but I keep wanting to explore the map 100%.

I definitely see the parallels to Diablo 2. There is a greater need to kite, and watch your health more often. Also enemies can come from around a corner and surprise you, I have died more often than never, but it's fun. Also some bosses are relentless in their pursuit, it's scary!

Living on the edge!

I see you are playing as a Nightblade, one skill that may help you for playing on the edge is Blade Barrier. Basically when you see your screen go red you hit that skill like a panic button. :p There's a similar skill for Arcanists called Mirror of Ereoctes which is very useful for glass canon type builds. :)

Random. Try and plan out your build on grimcalc so you have a general idea of where you are going with it. It helps quite a bit in the long run.

Completely random. :)

I tried playing last night, coudlnt concentrate and kept dying in the Depraved sancturay. I do think I need to wait a bit, 27 might be just to low for there. On my way to smugglers pass

I got killed while fighting the warden. Oh my word, and I made sure I had explored every bit of that place before I went there.

I'm level 27 now (I think) and I just killed Cronley. Also started doing the Veteran thing and it is a lot tougher than normal, but I adjusted to the difficulty quite quickly. I must say that my Shaman is working very nicely so far.
Didn't get too much time to play last night, I was very tired for some reason. Hopefully tonight I can get some more hours in.

Thanks, I will check it out. I was thinking of putting some points in Pneumatic Burst, to increase my attack speed and get some healing.

Just dinged 19 while clearing Depraved Sanctuary. The build is coming along nicely now especially with some lucky +fire dmg drops.

I played with the higher difficulty yesterday and I'm loving it! I made the mistake of going into this one place though where everything were much higher level for me. The game even warned me when I entered it. Inside were a lot of hero monsters and they killed me quite a few times. Haha and this after not coming close to dying when playing on normal difficulty.

I took care of the monsters though but further in there were more that were 8 or so levels higher than me. Decided to come back later and didn't die again.

One place where Grim Dawn beats Diablo III properly is with the crafting. Man the crafting feels like proper Diablo 2 gambling again. I love it!

Managed to get an hour in a night ago. Still not at all comfortable with things, but slaying a bunch of the undead and some weird bugs was a good bit of fun.

Have to work out how to change equipment and weapons and how to apply skill points and what to do with loot I find. That'll be today's focus for me hopefully.

I must say, going into this as a completely blind newbie to not only the game but the genre is very cool, and totally reinforces the idea behind [MyGame]. Other than keeping an eye on this thread for ideas I'm going to learn as I go. Turns out that it's a brilliant way to get excited and bring the "fun" level back into my gaming life. :)
