Morning peoples.

I have no breakfast or lunch because the people are crazy out there. :( I just wanted to buy a pie but nooooo, there's no parking space left at Checkers or Pick & Pay.

A Makro here in Cape Town have had a queue running around the building since just after 5 this morning

Reporters for Netwerk 24 found people at Menlyn queuing at the Checkers since 2 am! :eek:

That sucks. I know people who did their shopping yesterday to avoid the queues today.

Just remember about Spar, specials are not national for Spar. All are loaded regionally and even by store, seeing as Spar is a franchise owned store chain. So the special may not be active at your local Spar.

At ours it happens almost every 2 weeks, but go have a look even the 100g bags are worth it when normally priced - you get almost a full bottle for R50-60 instead of paying R80-90 for 150g in the glass jar

ikr, I don't get the grocery stores getting in on black friday.. :confused:

Is that for all Spars, or is there a company owned chain supplemented by franchises?

Each Spar is licensed out as a franchise store to each owner. Because of this, they have to option to set the prices as they would see fit. Hence why a Spar in a more affluent area will always be much more expensive than any other store. They still have some rules to bide by set by the Spar brand, but are mostly on their own. Other stores are part of the chain and are managers of stores.

Is there any chance of Hamilton winning the F1 Championship or whatever it's called. Not the race of the weekend but the whole thing. What will need to happen for that to be possible?
 
Morning all.

The American group here had me join them for Thanksgiving dinner last night. I stuffed myself! It was awesome.

Actually, they couldn't find any turkey, so they just made chicken instead. The ham was good too, and the stuffing... heck, all of it!

The group is gathering outside, so I gotta get going.
