My thoughts so far on hard - as a pure mage build
lvl 1 - 2, meh, this is gonna be tricky. mana is a problem and my spells suck....dodge for days when theres more than 2 enemies.
get mark of flame and dlc item set in Gorhardt (mana regen solved) - holy crap i'm OP...
...now im bored. run into mobs, mark them. click. they all explode, move on. ENDLESS running in this game (yes i know of fast travel, but distances between quests etc
)

Its an interesting mix between ranged and close up
I also use daggers and so far just have 2 spells. Just make sure to pick up the chakrams that they give as a reward early on. They are awesome and I only replaced it last night

Cool thing with the game is you can easily completely re-spec your character, by visiting a fate-weaver

I got a neat new perk as a battlemage: "blink" it's like dodge, but it's fancier. I have now finished my House of Ballads questline, now off finish off that black widow thing in Canneroc

Made a dent in the game today, managed to finish 6 side-quests and added another 7 to the list. 
Currently sitting at character level 5. Started as a magic-wielding rogue, then moved to pure sorcery, but now I'm adding some strength in the mix as well. Currently running with fiery chakrams and an electrifying staff. Much fun is being had!
Only thing is, the game becomes a bit tiring for me. I must try the FOV fix [MENTION=2530]Wyvern[/MENTION] mentioned, because currently I can only manage an hour or so before I have to switch it off.
