Most people I know are <1km away from having fibre coverage. Just my parents stay in an area covered by Fiber, but my old man decided to sign a 24 month contract with Telkom/DoBroadband. My house should be getting fibre covered in about 6 months time.

oh well that's great news then... I'm only about 20 km's away. Yet our office has fibre and I live 1km away yet there's no availability within an approx 20km radius.

Had it with my old place. Its because most of the fibre providers might have "business fibre" available in the area, but won't provide FTTH even if the infrastructure runs 4m away from your premises.
