Ark: Survival Evloved players

After reading a lot of the negative reviews on steam from people that have been playing for more than 50 hours and that are making a big noise about how low the FPS is on their mega machines, I am going to hold off on buying this.

Many of them also saying that even though they have playable FPS that it stutters a lot, even after all this time that the game has been in early access.

Going to wait for a lot more optimization to happen.
Shrike, this game is brilliant. Do not pay attention to those guys. I mean, they got it going on consoles [emoji14]

That's so messed up that people are going around killing your dinos.

that put me off playing on open maps with out a password. i will just stay with playing on single player
Exactly how I feel. Stick to SP.

its add bunch of stuff and its a lot harder to do. our linked server you can take dino's both ways so lots of guys flying around on wyverns in the center.
I haven't bought Scorched Earth yet. Waiting for a GOOD special as I have to buy 2 copies.

My first experiences with Scorched Earth made me love this game even more. First time played it, huge sand storm. Killed my stamina and eventually ran out of health and died. Second time, super heat wave, dehydrated quickly and died. Third time, electric storm, didn't die but so beautiful. Much harder but it feels more satisfying to survive.

And freaking Terror Birds

Due to the nice special I am finally playing Ark, good game solo, at my own pace with some sliders turned up.

Question: the scorched earth DLC is a totally separate game, you start from scratch I see. Is it a whole new download or is it part of the main game and patched in?

Next question if the above is yes: can you still play the normal Ark while the DLC is downloading or does it lock the whole thing up until the DLC is downloaded?

I've had this game since release but haven't played it in like 6 months... are lots of people still playing?

most of the content is part of the main game think there is a patch of 4 gig (might be wrong) and no one would need to wait for the download to complete

Nice special, but I still can't bring myself to support developers with dodgy ethics. Got myself a copy of Conan Exiles instead.

Ja dude think amount of players are increasing, especially after 4gb update adding alot of new things think they almost have all the dinos they planned in the game

Thanx for the laugh bud lol

Calling out the Ark developers ethics and then following it up with "Got myself a copy of Conan Exiles instead" is fucking amazingly funny.
I don't think you know much about Funcom then...lol Let's just say that they've released a few games and 2 months down the line they decided..eh oh well not working and they stopped supporting the game.

At least the ARK devs have continued to push through with the game, and yes I don't agree with some of the stuff they pulled. Not really the DLC but the lack of clarity on why the DLC was released early.

My past experiences with Funcom has been good (AO, AoC and TSW) so I based my decision to get Conan on that. I'll have another look at Ark if it ever leaves EA.

ARK is in a really good place right now, it's running better than ever, there is an absolute ton of content. Thousands of mods, thousands of unofficial servers, huge player base.

In fact, give me your steam name, I still have a gift copy laying around.

Actually, are there any PvE servers? One of the main reasons my bro and I got Conan was the the PvE and not to deal with "griefers". Thanks for the offer, but I'm worried it might go to waste.

Thousands of pve servers (I actually run 2 PVE servers).
Well if you change your mind let me know.
