Official Ghost Recon: Wildlands thread

Well my download finished last night.. I hope the mission we can do aren't short and we get to spend quite a few hours on the beta

I actually have no idea what this game is about, but I'm going to give it a try. I'm kind of hoping the gameplay is a bit like Metal Gear Solid V. :o

Hi MetalSoup, Yeah, bit MGS V with coop/3 AI buddies mixed with some Far Cry 4 and some GTA V (60+ vehicles).

You aim is to quell the drug trade in Bolivia, where the game is set.

BTW: There is a ton of videos out on the Charactersmith feature, here is one I watched.

I am toying with the idea of trying a full on, stealth only approach and to try to stick to it through out the beta.

For those that missed it, the beta starts at 1PM today (our time). :)

I'm now torn between playing this, Spec Ops and Dark Souls 3 this weekend.

1h40m left. See you in the Bolivian jungle tonight!

I'm on discord for voice comms but I am pretty sure the game will have voip built in.

My step-bro invited me to the beta. Got the game in my library in Uplay. Will download in a bit and check it out over the weekend.

The videos I've seen so far have me optimistic. Really hoping it doesn't suck.

The game doesn't run very well for me. Anyone else having issues? Maybe it's just time for me to upgrade my GPU. :(

Edit: It actually seems to be a common complaint.

It seems to be a pretty demanding game - there's quite a bit of detail and the viewing distance is huge. I found my gameplay to be much smoother with vertical sync off (I actually thought I had turned it off already). I'm getting around 50FPS on high settings with shadows on medium - areas with lots of shadows seem to be the problem. I'm running an AMD R9 290 (roughly the equivalent of a GTX 970). Being an Nvidia TWIMTBP title I'd imagine the green cards to do a bit better.

The Bench recommended I run it on low, to which I replied "you're not my supervisor!"

I'm now running on a slightly modified high setting and it looks great and runs smoothly
