Greetings all. I'm a long time MyBB and SA Gamer forumite. Thought I'd create an account here too and see what's what.

For some reason I can't update my profile, avatar etc? I get an error that I don't have permission to access those pages. I have confirmed my account via email.

Welcome to the forums, it takes about 20 posts and a little wait for the system to catch up and let you do all that.

I think it's a case of mods not activating my account or something. I can't even access my settings for this site, so I get an email every time I'm quoted.

There's a post count that has to be reached for certain sections of the forum to become available. Just make lots of posts and you'll be fine. :)

So funny story... the quote emails aren't a default feature, they are part of the add-on we installed to give us @ user tagging support.

As far as I can see there is no interface for admins to adjust user preferences for this plugin, so without messing with the database (which I'm not going to do) I can't stop quote e-mails on a per-user basis.

I've manually promoted your account. You should be able to access settings now.

I've also wondered about that. I often see MyBB people try the @ summon but it doesn't do anything. Do they have that at SA Gamer too?

All the quoting and mentioning stuff works on SA Gamer with website notifications. MyBroadband supports none of it through the website, but Tapatalk users are notified of both quotes and mentions.
