So I haven't seen any thread created as yet for this, so here we go.

Horizon Zero Dawn

In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, pockets of humanity live on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the Machines – fearsome mechanical creatures of unknown origin.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an exhilarating new action role playing game exclusively for the PlayStation® 4 System, developed by the award winning Guerrilla Games, creators of PlayStation’s venerated Killzone franchise.

Indeed, it's really nice to see something different come from Guerilla Games. Something out of their comfort zone and yet delivered so damned well.

Yeah, if all goes well I plan on getting a Pro by end next week and possibly this game. My choice is either this or Nioh.

and Mass Effect at end of March. Not sure where all the money is gonna come from to finance these games. The idea is to play . . . finish then trade and so forth.

I wasn't that amped for HZD to begin with and would have just been happy with Nioh, but now my expectations and wants are getting bigger... thank goodness I paid off my overdraft.

I didn't know HZD is marketed as an action RPG. Does this mean lots of content, side missions, leveling-up and exploration to do?

Yes, yes and yes.

But I hear it's very fleshed out and worth while. Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty explained it as; "at no time did it feel like a chore and of the same depth and quality of The Witchers side missions" - something along those lines. A lot of people are comparing it to things like Far Cry but on the level of The Witcher with a lot deeper combat mechanics but not as great storytelling and narrative as Witcher. Though they do say it is very good in it's story driven content.

You should watch the videos above. I really appreciate Danny's journalism.

Don't know how much you know of Greg and Colin and their game preferences, but it's needless to say that Colin is a huge fan of Naughty Dog and the Uncharted franchise. He says that HZD is better than the Uncharted series, where Uncharted lacked in it's 3rd person gunfights this makes up so much more. And he clearly marks it as one of the best Sony primary exclusives to date (maybe not better than TLoU, but definitely brilliant).

Bring it to PC! Bring it to PC! Bring it to PC! Bring it to PC! Bring it to PC! Bring it to PC!

Guerrilla Games has only ever made one Multi-platform game, beyond that they make games exclusively for Sony. Doubt it would ever happen.
