Anyone willing to help me sell something on Carbonite?

So, I registered an account months ago and never used it. I see the account is pretty much disabled as I can't post anything except in the support forum. I started a topic there asking for assistance, which was "subject to moderator approval" that just never materialised.

I want to sell my GPU there. I finally have my desktop back after the motherboard blew and the distributor struggled to get me a replacement (I had to settle for a H97m board where I previously had a Z97m board, but that's beside the point) and I decided to sell off the GPU for something smaller and quieter. I currently have a Gigabyte R9 280x Windforce edition that I'm looking to get rid of. There's still a couple of months worth of warranty on the card (I bought it mid 2014) and it's in perfect nick.

Will anyone be willing to help me out to sell it there, seeing as I can't get my account activated?

Can't advertise on Carbonite as your rating is too low to generate any interest. Won't but from you on Carbonite because your rating is too low. How do you increase your rating on Carbonite? By selling things on Carbonite.

Screw them, use scumtree instead.

I can give you my log in details if you likes?

Also, how much you want for it?

I'd prefer not to hijack anyone's account, that's why I'm rather asking for assistance. I'm looking at R1700-R1800. They seem to sell for around R2000 and I don't want to be greedy, just want to sell it as fast as possible.

It's just generally frowned upon and I've been in trouble for it in the past for selling goods on someone's behalf. But I do have someone in office looking for one and will inform him of this.

Well that's just dandy... How are you supposed to sell it if you can't do anything on the site? But thanks, let me know if the person is interested in the card.

Well he's asking, "how much". So I can only assume he's interested. He'll probably do some homework and get back to me. I know he was interested in a 970 the other day.

Thats not a good idea, thats directly against their rules and you'll get permabanned...trust me.

Hahahaha. good luck with that (quick tip, not gonna happen...). They're assholes :p

To sell on Carbonite you need rep; To get rep you need to sell on Carbonite. It's a solid model that works.

Buy fans, HDDS, mice, mouse pads. Small stuff you might need. Easy way to build up rep as mottamort said.
There are a few golden rules that should apply when doing deals no matter how high or low the iTrade.

Deal is only final once money exchanges hands
Goods can be sent once payment clears from buyer
If dealing with unknown dealer, deal F2F only

Lmnsqz?

Thanks for the tip, but I'm not gonna buy a bunch of stuff just so I can sell a GPU there. Besides, my account is deactivated in some way or another and the mods don't have the decency to even approve my support post so I can get it sorted.

I managed to sell it privately thanks to BeoTeK.

Not saying buy just for the sake of buying. But there are awesome fans, mice and other smaller stuff brand new for very cheap price.
It is a closed trusted community and that is why it works

I get that, but I prefer buying new and selling my second hand stuff. Carbonite doesn't really work well for me in this regard. I prefer flogging my hardware on Gumtree. First come, first served cash only. I don't ship, I don't EFT.

The three times I tried selling things on Carbonite I got the "Don't but from him he is not a trusted seller" and the "I think it's a scam artist" treatment. And the one time I tried buying something I got the "I'm not sure I can trust you" treatment. Screw them, really not interested at this point.

Some of the guys are a bit harsh on newbies. That is what vouching is for. And afaik you need someone to vouch for you to even join now.

The thing is, lots of guys sell stuff on carb only a a few days old, with full waranty left. Either as a supplier of some sort or something like that at a fraction of the cost new. NEVER will i take that chance on Gumtree.

I'm happy to help you sell something on carb. You don't need to log in with my details I can post it for you. As far as I know that's perfectly fine. I will just be responsible for the sale and anything bad that happens will be on my neck.

There is a way to deal on carb. Work needs to be done to verify who you are buying / selling from. Scams do happen. But I think if you spent some time getting to know guys and asking experience people for help they will assist you with a deal if you're new.
