Just got my copy of the latest PC Zone magazine this morning and lo and behold, a nice sizeable DA:O review lies within

If its been posted already then my apologies and lock this accordingly.
Basically they were extremely happy with the story and dialogue giving particular mention to NPC banter Alistair in particular seems to have gone down a treat
They broke it down at the end of the review as follows:
Graphics - Beautiful close-up but lacks epic.
Sound - Amazing music, great voice-acting.
Multiplayer - Not really, sadly. (note this is the only mention of the lack MP in the game throughout the entire review and it doesn't seem to have gone down in anyway as a negative)
+ Fascinating fantasy world
+ Entertaining companions
+ Stellar twisting, turning storyline
+ Addictive character development
- Difficulty all over the place
The difficulty does get a mention in the review pretty much as the only negative, not that the game in general is too difficult, they seem to think that it isn't very well balanced, one room can be a push over and suddenly in the next you are hitting the reload button, they even go as far as to say:
"My advice, and Ive never said this before, is to ratchet the difficulty levels down to easy as soon as you start getting into trouble (which will be guaranteed in the room with the central fire in the Tower of Ishal)"
Also a small negative went to some of the smaller locations such as dungeons etc having some 'invisible wall' issues which is much less of a problem in larger open areas, but the reviewer admits to being especially nit picky on this.
They also make a special mention about the Origins and how impressed they were about the way they are integrated into the main storyline.
"These origins work brilliantly, not only as individual cases of playable lore but also in personalizing the 70+ hours of game-time ahead of you. As you play through the game your origins are meshed with the overall narrative thrust of the game to such an extent that you struggle to imagine what would be happening to someone with a different background".
Generally an overwhelmingly positive review.
Score = 93%
In comparison to other RPG's they reviewed ME got 92% and witcher got 88% so take from that what you will
For the full review, you will eventually be able to see it online at their website (search on Google for PC zone UK) but it isn't there as of yet. (Understandable else whats the point in subscribing to the mag if the reviews are available on the website straight away

)
