It just keeps it neat. Sometimes some soil might wash through as well.

It also depends if you can remember to water , sometimes it's good to have a little extra water for the roots to soak up.

I grow veggies for the house. Tomatoes, chillies, basil, baby spinach, spinach and lots of herbs.
Moving to a 20ha small holding in the central berg in Dec so will have to start all over again.

If I come across any, I'll use 'em, but I'm not about to spend money on this yet... Hopefully with walking past them I'll water them when I get home each day.

I'm transplanting my chillies and cherry tomatoes, we just made space for a vege garden so hopefully they will grow better there they are way too big for their little planter now
