Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Solitude

Mr. Nice Guy
How good does this game look?

From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness.

Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.

Created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will pull you deep into Senua’s mind.

It's just sad that it's not the XBox One. It looks like it may be a timed console exclusive so hopefully it'll find it's way to the XBox One in the future.

PC + XBone controller = sorted

I've got both of that and use both often.

But gaming on a pc is just not as relaxing as gaming from the couch. You know, we sit in in front of computers the whole day. So I game on both pc and console but prefer console gaming because it feels less like work.

Add to it, I've got such a large pc backlog and it's increasing by the day, plus I'm getting VR and I think that's going to take up a large amount of time. So I really hope they bring this to the XBox One. Especially the XBox One X! I wants it.

You might benefit from a Steam Link

Just finished the game. I really like it. Despite the combat looking terrible in videos, it's actually a lot of fun.

My flatmate bought this on steam and is playing to at the moment, watched a bit of game play and listened to the audio this is definitely something you want to play with a headset.

Although Ninja Theory is a multi-platform developer it hasn't been confirmed yet whether it will be available for XBox.

A couple of things to keep in mind.

  • It isn't a shoot `em up, so don't go expecting COD/DooM/BF of something similar where its almost constant action.
  • It's not meant to be a bazillion hour game, the developers have said a lot of times, the game will be shorter than most and that's part of the reason they are not asking full price, like $60 or whatever goes for full price these days.
  • Play with headphones, don't even attempt to play without it, its sound design was built around binaural sound. You lose so much of the immersion if you dont.

If you complain about any of the above, you shouldn't buy/complain about the game as it was all clearly listed by the devs.

This is an exceptional game, sure the combat can be a bit meh now and then, but the game, imvho is awesome, trying strongly for game of they year for me personally.

While speaking about binaural sound, have a listen to some of the vids at this site. The Sound Traveler

installed last night, didnt have time to play though

when it starts up it says best experienced with headphones, I see there's also a featurette video in the menu but didnt want to watch it since it contains spoilers apparently.
