The Game Award Nominees are up, voting starts today

The fact that Pubg is mentioned as a GOTY alongside absolute perfect games is a travesty. Never has a game been this least deserving of being nominated for GOTY. I hope that is loses by a land slide!!

Well it is the most played game on Steam and not just by a little bit by more than double the second most played game. So many Chinese apparently started playing the game that it led to an increase of Windows machines in Asia and led to Steam stats being completely destroyed.

Um need to go find article. Can't do that now. Read it yesterday though.

So it did do something right.

Oh, it's made a big impact, of that there is no doubt. But inpure quality, making it the best gaming experience you can have this year, absolutely not. Not even close. It was chosen for this award just because of its impact, not it's quality.

If so many people are playing it then it must probably be quite good. So good that millions of people bought it and play it.

Since the award is for best game then maybe a game that captured the attention of millions is the best game. :p

Dammit, don't come to an emotional outburst with logic and nullify my feelings...

Haha. It's most definitely not my kind of best game. I don't even like multiplayer games like that.

If I have to vote for one of the ones listed then I'd go with Ze.... Horizon Zero Dawn.

Speaking to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds creative director Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene, I asked what he thought of Early Access games like PUBG being considered for Game of the Year awards, and he somewhat surprisingly told me “Personally, I don’t want to win a Game of the Year award.”

“While I would love to win it for the team, I think this year there have been far better games.” Greene specifically called out The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon: Zero Dawn as “masterpieces of game design and storytelling.”

Also, any one of the other noms can win GOTY and I would be absolutely fine with it. They all rightfully deserve it.

I have a problem with voting for these things. Most of us haven't played most of those games. For instance, I know for a fact that Lone Echo is the best VR game in existence. But how many of the general gaming public knows that?

I haven't played any of the game of the year games. How can they let me make a decision like that? It's irresponsible.
