Awesome dude.
I had to send my Kave's back coz my box arrived without a MIC!!!!
Courier services costing me three arms a spleen and a leg. . .
*sigh

I look forward to your review. Haha I bet you are looking forward much more to trying them out though! :D

I also bought a 5.1 headphone set a while ago, I think they are Zalmans??? I forget. Anyways, they served me very well till I could finally use my desktop speakers again. I hope you enjoy your new headphones and you should give Dead Space a try with those with the lights off. Get a pair of brown pants ready when you do :)

Those head phones look awesome!

Neo, were they these ones? http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-zalman-zm-rs6f-5-1ch-surround-headphones-20524.html I'm interested to know what you think of them

LOOOOL Thanks for the kind words man, Im sure I will enjoy them!

Hmmm, I really should play deadspace as I never finished it.

Sofar well, sortof good. I'm getting this irretating hum / high pitched noise from them no matter what I do. I've done some extensive testing online, and it seems to be my onboard audio thats the issue.

I had an older Audigy 2 ZS lying around here, but its gone MIA :/

SO I played even with that noise (which gave me a moer-of-a-headache) And I must say I am really really impressed.

I noted the "hollow" sound that Slipperyduck mentioned, and yeah its quite arb in the beginning, but you get used to it. The positional sound is Phenominal, Test with COD4, NFS Shift, Tomb Raider Underworld, Fallout 3, Borderlands, and the sound is really something special.

I'll get an Xfi Or Xonar in the week or something, that noise is making me mal.

That sucks a lot about the noise Maplassie. I hope it's your onboard audio and not the headphones.

It sounds like they are great though. I love the fact that the positional sound is so good. That adds so much to a game.

Let us know when you get the soundcard and if that fixes the problem. :)

I found my Audigy 2 ZS. It's definitely the onboard audio causing the noise.

unfortunately with the Audigy 2 ZS being unsopported in 7, my rear speaker volume is EXTREMELY soft.

So it doesnt really help.

Browsed hundreds of pages, found Daniel_K drivers which are workaround/updated drivers made by a user specially for 7, but it didnt help at all.

Atleast the noise is gone, but 5.1 headphones help nothing if you dont have rear speaker sound.

SO I have a choice. PLay with a whining noise and get a headache and irretated, or play without noise and have no rear sound.....

Final choice, buy a discrete soundcard that is supported in W7? U can get an asus xonar for around R650, and it will far surpass your onboard audio in terms of quality.

Sucks about the crackling, nevertheless :(

Yeah dude I'm going an Xfi or Xonar in the week :D

I don't have experience with the xonar hey.

All mty high end machines that we build get Xfi soundcards. Yeah the lower/mid range models are VERY scarce, as is most of creative stock.

I've been in the PC business for years, I grew up with it, and I have never trusted hardware reviews. I like to get handson with products before I buy, from what I have heard and read the xonar seams good, but I have yet to test it.

Well ATM anything is better than either my Onboard or Audigy 2 ZS :P

What I have read though is lots of ppl have issues with the DX and 5.1 sound, will investigate further.....

Will shop around and try and find the best price and just go for one.

What you use?

I'm sure you'll agree, that it takes a couple of hours to get used to the different sound, once you're used to it, you can't live without it!!!

The accuratcy in the positioning is so totally awesome!

yeah I know exactly what you mean. specially with what you said about it sounding "hollow".

Alas since I dont have rear volume from my Audigy 2 ZS, I don't have that positioning anymore. I'd rather sit with stereo sound than use my onboard and get full 5.1 but with that stupid low pitched headache inducing noise.

I just ordered my Xonar, so will see how it goes once I have it.
