I don't mind swearing in context, but of course I don't want spam swearing filled posts.

Another concern is how many young mebers does this site have? I think that some parents might not want their kds to be on sites that allow swearing.

Like my vote suggests, if used in proper context then why not. Unnecessary swearing just for the heck of it, or to sound ''cool'' is obviously not tolerable. I think the TK should at least remain uncensored. Maybe change the title to warn potential nay sayers that they might encounter harsh words. :)

I voted for the second option.

I think swearing should be allowed when referring to situations or objects. For example, "I'm having a s*** day." Referring to someone as a ******* *******, however, should not be permitted :)

Regardless, excessive swearing should be discouraged.

Then those parents need to lock up those kids and not allow them to go to school as well. They will hear a lot worse at school then here.;)

I think above all else, the ladies in the forum should have a big say in this.

Among guys, it's fine to swear like a sailor, but I feel like a bit of a toss if there's ladies around while okes are swearing. It's not cool hey :/

So you're basically saying they have a bigger say? That's BS ..... all of us have a say. Besides, as has been stated, it's very calmed down when they are around anyway, we're respectful like that.

^^ I think he means most gentlemen would naturally give the ladies a bigger say in the matter :)

While our ladies are very important, they are our equals ....... nothing more and nothing less. We as gamers are having this vote.

I don't think anyone is disputing the equals bit...I think they're simply trying to have manners around the ladies. Nothing more, nothing less ;)

I don't mind swearing as much, as long as it stays in context and it's not used in an abusive manner. That said, words are anyhow manipulated in such a way that message gets across without the filter picking it up, so what's the main difference really? Perhaps just censor the worst of words.

If you give everyone the freedom to swear you are opening the doors for little 12 year old lities with no respect the chance to swear mothers, brothers, sisters and just be plain rude.... :D

Be that as it may...I feel bad using foul language around ladies, but it's fine around guys. Ergo, they are more affected by it than we are - since we're fine with it amongst ourselves.

Since there are more males than females on here, we run a monopoly. So where's the fairness in that? If guys get 50% of the vote (between the 500 of us) and girls get 50% of the vote (between the 10 of them) then it's unfair to the individuals, but fair on the gender discrimination.

Otherwise It's as fair as 9 wolves and 1 sheep voting on what's for dinner. :D

Well Prophecy.co.za has a special thread where it is allowed I reckon in TK it should be fine, maybe just put a disclaimer users must agree to before gaining access to TK...
