I dug up the fossilised remains of my previous PC and I am planning to pawn it off to my girlfriend's brother to use for work purposes and the occasional PES game. Can you recommend a price for this hunk of industrial age junk? I don't plan on milking the guy so I'm not expecting much.

CPU: AMD 3500+
Mobo: Asus SLi
Memory: 1GB RAM
HDD: Seagate 320GB
GFX: Asus 7800GTX
DVD: Sony DVD Writer
PSU: Antec 420W
Monitor: Viewsonic 19" VX
Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse
 
Chuck in 1 more GB of ram and R5k is a very decent price. (considering you want to rip him off in good standing...)

I was thinking around R2000 as well.

My gf will probably be footing the bill for this anyway. Yes. That's how I roll.

Just didn't have a HDD. I gave it to my friend because he wanted a PC. No charge.

Karma dude. Do good things, and good things will happen. Don't always go after the money, especially if you don't need it.

Lol, my current PC is even older than this. Think AMD 2400+ 1GB RAM and 6600GT. Needless to say I game on my notebook these days and my current PC sits in a corner half the time in a powered down state :p

R1500 to R2000 sounds fair.

What is a PES game?
 
In truth - I have a pc like that lying in my cupboard :o

You said you wanted to milk him. If it was me, I'd give it to him for free ... maybe the gf pays you in kind. ;)
