Dude you can play cod4 on a 384 with no problems.....
Ja cod4, CSS, TF2, L4D and L4D2, Still waiting to play wolfenstein

my problem is that were supposed to be getting 512mb speed, but were only ever getting up to 40 at the very best.

That is strange. You should be getting 52kb/s at max, thats what I get. 40kb/s for 384kb/s my Telkom hasnt upgraded your line yet?
You should be able to play CoD online without a hitch online, pings at about 130 from what I can recall.

Again, the poor connection, the lowest ping I ever got was around 550. it's fine for sniper vs sniper, but I can't let my talent shine in combat.

ok ok. I cant let my "talent" shine that well even with pings of 250. I am so not good at the close quarters combat thing, like CoD, thats a little too confined for me.
