is it possible to play games i've installed from steam....OFFLINE?

hi,
i have a friend who has a few games on a steam account and he's let me download the games and use whenever....BUT, i would like to be able to play these games offline without needing the steam account or being connected to the internets. :D

is this possible?
 
Launch Steam in offline mode. The game will first have to be 100% ready in order to launch them.

Open steam and in the file menu select "start steam in offline mode."


Update steam 100% at your friend then switch all updates steam wants to do off. then minimize steam and shutdown your pc go back to your house and just switch it on, launch steam and it will give you a message saying it can't connect but just start it in offline mode.

Yep thats the way

Also if you restart you PC, the steam window opens and you can select offline mode from there.

Click My Games, right click the game you want, select launch.

Remember the game has to have been 100% updated (and obviously installed from the disk) in order to play it - otherwise the system will just tell you "Unable to launch in offline mode".

Also, it's good practice to actually LAUNCH the game once it's downloaded while online at least once. Sometimes it needs to do a bit of unpacking or something that requires online mode for first launch.
