My Microsoft Habu mouse has been giving problems for a while now and soon I will have to buy a new mouse. I need some help in choosing a new mouse though.

I use my fingers to control the mouse and not my palm. My ideal mouse is the Fatal1ty 1010 (or newer) but I see that tons of people are having problems with it.

What other mice are there for people who use a finger grip? And not ones that are too expensive. I'm not prepared to pay R1000 for a mouse. :)
 
I have been using my G5 for over a year and I love it. I dont move it around with my palm, I use fingergrip
 
I got it and a Razer Extreme Propad, a those hard ones, its smooth and fast on the one side and a bit more rough and slow on the other side, it works beautifully.
 
I've had mine for many moons now and it is still working like a charm. Only problem is, they are a bit expensive...
 
R500 is alright. Anything higher than R600 is getting a bit much. For instance the G9 looks awesome but wow it just feels wrong to have to pay R1000 for a mouse.
 
Razer Copperhead, Razer Lachesis, Razer Diamondback (not listed in order of preference)
A4Tech has some nice mice too. Logitech mice are good too. Heard good things about the 518.
What games you want to play btw?

So the Razers that you mentioned, are they ideal for the way that I hold a mouse?

Yes, especially the Lachesis and Copperhead I mostly move with my fingers too. The mice are light and very responsive.
The Lachesis is a 4000dpi, 1000Hz polling laser mouse. It may be just out of your price range though, or maybe not, I bought it probably more than a year ago or so now.

And sorry camper, thanks for trying but I don't think you read my first post properly. ;) There are many people who are having problems with the 1010 within weeks of getting it. Buttons which double click when single clicking or buttons that do not click at all. Connectivity problems etc. If it wasn't for that then I would have gone with the 1010.

Just to add, with these sensitive mice, you need a decent mouse pad (gaming) as well. They tend to 'jump' if the mice is not fine-tuned, due to them being so sensitive. This happens especially if the mouse pad is not very good.

i have the mx518 .... its a brilliant mouse ... xerowing will argue that the microsoft sidewinder is better tho ... since you use to the habu i think a razor mouse would suit you better since razor basically made the habu for microsoft ... razor mice tends to be cheaper than its logitech counterparts tho ...
 
Thanks weakest_link. :) To tell the truth I actually prefer Logitech mice to the Razor ones. I think it is because of all the problems I had with the Habu.

I've added the mx518 to the list of mice that I'll check out. :)
