First PS3!

BLASPHEMY:mad:

Let us know what you think of the console and how the gaming went.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Played resistance 2 and heavenly sword so far also, updated the console and went onto PS Home.

I have only 1 issue I have no sound! I am using my Monitor to play on as I sold my tv's and bought projectors thinking woot now no tv license seeing as I dont watch tv only series and movies. BUT now The PS3 doesnt have a sound out and I am using a HDMI to DVI cable for my monitor :( Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure any existing PS3 model has an optical output for audio.

You can use the "Settings - > Audio Settings" XBar menu to toggle if the audio should output via Optical or HDMI.

Obviously you need a hardware audio set-up that can take an optical input though... so I'm holding thumbs for you... :)

Do you have a hi-fi with Auxillary?

Take the component cables you got with the PS3 and use that for Audio, the red and white plugs. Can choose audio to come out of there

So I ouput it to an amp? How though? Doesn't the component cable plug into the HDMI port?
