Dear Videogame Industry, Please Stop Making Games (Article)

Back in the 90s there were lots of games, a few good games, and even less absolutely great games. Now, there even more games, lots of good games, but where are the absolutely great ones?

The last great one that I played was the 2008 Prince of Persia. Before that it was CoD4. And before that even it was Red Alert 2. And there were zero other greats between them.

I'de rather be inclined to ask, not to stop, but take your time with what you have, make it last, make it great, make it a true video game.

I have to disagree with you there. Stalker was a absolute great game and clear sky.

Ja if the took their time, and released less, then games would be better and less rushed into the market

Pfft, casual gamers.

I've finished every title worth playing for the past 10 years and I only play games 13 hours a day and only skip 2 days of work a month. Stop complaining Wii fanboi and start finishing those games!

13 hours a DAY WTF do you get the time?

lol nice article. I am feeling pretty much the same as the chap that wrote this.

To many games coming out, so little time! I have a huge pile of games I haven't even touched yet.

Heh, I kinda know what he means. I usually manage to finish games, though, since it's kind of my job. But release schedules can be intimidating sometimes. :P

i have a backlog of games that I intend to finish. I've stopped getting new games till i can work through them:

Zelda twilight princess close to the end - epic
MW2 i just beat
Far Cry 2 is like halfway but it's a backburner atm - got a bit boring tbh.
Batman is maybe 1/2way not sure
Dirt2 looks classy
Borderlands maybe if i feel up to it

Damn all that hype! The Hype get's me all amped for the new titles, and I'll pick up something on the weekend, and in another week AVP is out and the game i'm currently on takes a back burner!

And yes i have no self control :)

I actually prefer games to be linear because I end up getting distracted by some other game halfway between running errands to unlock some random gun or other on things like Fallout3.

I also have a long list of incomplete games. :o

As for the dude who "only" skips 2 days of work a month.

2 Days per month = 24 days. You only work 21 days per month anyway. Your employer must love you.

glad to see i'm not the only one in this boat :) ... i've got atleast 6 awesome titles i haven't managed to get into properly yet. just installed and played a few minutes to get a feel for the game.

all started going well and i was making good progress in finishing a few games... and then.... along came mass effect 2 and enslaved me. now the ME2 dvd doesn't leave my DVD drive.
