BioShock 2

After playing the preview code, and now busy playing the final release, I am a fan.

It is very similar to the first game, with a number of tweaks and improvements made to the gameplay.

I think its a technically better game with superior combat. The only thing Bioshock has on Bioshock 2, is that it felt new and original. Bioshock 2 does not have that sense of awe and wonder which was prevalent throughout the first game. This is simply because we have seen Rapture before, so its not as mesmerizing as it was when we first entered its creaky corridors.

Still, an excellent game. Full review will be up soon.

fair enough Tinman, i never doubted that Bioshock 2 would be a great game technically. i just want a fresh new experience and not an improved experience from the first.

look at mass effect 2 compared to the original mass effect, the difference is gigantic. i just thought that bioshock 2 would take the franchise to a different level

I kinda hear what you saying, but remember Bioshock 1 was brilliant in every aspect, good graphics, great gameplay, etc etc.

ME1 on the other hand had a great story, but there were many issues with the game, not to say I didn't enjoy it, but ME2 managed to fix and address all the areas where 1 came short.

I think the guys are Bioshock 2 had the right idea, why fix it if it ain't broke?

I don't think they needed to change the game all that much to make it just as successful as the first.

w00t my Bioshock rapture edition is ready to pack!

Lets just hope it gets handed to the courier today so it arrives tomorrow!

that makes sense Grimspoon, bioshock 1 was epic and the gameplay was beautiful. i suppose ME1 left much more room for improvement compared to bioshock as you rightly pointed out.

I spent most of last night playing it. If you liked Bioshock 1, you'll like Bioshock 2. It is very much the same thing, which in this case, isn't a bad thing. It's like a big expansion pack.
