Bad Company 2 next week Friday!

We'll see. I haven't played as much as I would like but then I haven't really enjoyed it so much to be honest.

Hopefully it was just cause the beta was a bit buggy. I'll reserve my comment till I've got the full game in my hands.
 
Whaaaat? You didn't enjoy it?? I thought this was like Battlefield 2 meets Modern Warfare!??? What is not to like??
 
I am excited but I am really worried about some of the comments from those who played the Beta. Toxin for example. I have heard others including mappy. Who say its not great. Lets just hope the release is somewhat different.

Thats also something I have heard. But I am not sure if that is a good thing. MW is too restrictive. Not enough old style BF2
 
I thought the maps on Bad Company 2 were going to be the same size than those of BF2. That was EPIC. You also have choppers and tanks in Bad Company 2....so the maps have to be a bit bigger to justify that. I think this game is going to be great as long as people don't expect TOO much from it. I also think people are being spoiled lately and when a really good game comes along, it's too easily shot down.
 
Yeah thats true.

So are they smaller than BF2? I dont have a beta key, so I dont know. How similar is it to BF2?
 
Yeah I can't wait. I haven't played the beta but from what I've seen so far it looks like my cup of tea. I'm not going to have money to buy it next week, plus the ADSL line isn't due for at least two weeks. Definitely getting it end of next month though. :)

Don't make any assumption on the beta, after the last patch it started getting a lot better. Looking forward to it.
 
Yay some positive comments about this game. Geesh, I was becoming nervous. All I know is, this game has my support. The same cannot be said of MW2.
 
I'm quite confident that the game is going to be great, especially the multiplayer. You must just remember that this type of game is not for everyone. So make your judgment based on what you like and not on what others say. MW2 players for example might find the game too hardcore and not as instantly gratifying. Whereas I'm looking for a less arcade-y shooter which BC2 seems to tread a decent middle ground.
 
I'm a big fan of Modern Warfare, but I honestly think that I liked Battlefield 2 a bit more. So I'm hoping for a game that's like Modern Warfare, but MORE like Battlefield 2. So far BC2 seems to be exactly that! :)
 
i will never play another beta version as it spoils the outlook of the game cos of the single map and the bugs, it will come out with a patch and i think a BIG patch and i would go so far to say there is no game like BF2.

I found that BF2 was a lil boring in comparison to bf2 bc2.

I maxed out the beta level cap way too quickly. Love the game.

I enjoyed BC1 on PS3, but on PC BC2 looks and plays ten times better. As much as I enjoy MW2, I prefer BC2, because of vehicles, destruction, huge maps, and more strategy than twitching.

I'm keen to upgrade to core i7, but I'm waiting for benchies of BC2 before I decide as the last patch made the game fly on my 3.8ghz e8500 core2duo and gtx275. I also want to see if dx11 is a big enough upgrade from dx10 to justify a new Fermi card when they're released.

So you're saying that the last patch made a nice difference to dual core gamers? That would be brilliant! I would hate it if a 4.11GHz E8600 suddenly become obsolete! Also, I've seen a lot of DX11 games recently where they compared DX11 to DX10...and I really struggled to see the difference. I honestly don't think current DX11 games are worth moving to a new graphics card....YET.
 
The tesselation might make a big diff in-game, but it's difficult to see in screenshots. I personally hate it when round things have edges.

I was getting 25-50fps when the beta came out and after the patch it went up to 35-60 or so. Didn't benchmark anything, but the minimum fps definitely went up.
 
I dunno about the negative comments. I'm thoroughly enjoying the beta. I must say though, there are some balance issues that need to be address when the full game comes out. The apache, for instance, is so insanely overpowered atm that the moment a half decent pilot hops into it, he's guaranteed 3000 points minimum for the map. Which is nuts...
