The Only Thing I Know

I found this interesting as a response to that vid:

If you've stopped liking games or decided that doing any other activity for 10 straight hours is a better use of your time, fine. Tastes change over time. But don't tell the world that it was the video tapes that ruined your life. Videogames didn't cockblock you on your date. They didn't cancel your trip to Space Camp. They didn't keep you from partying throughout college.

You did. And that means the thing that needs to change is you.

From the article.

But the true gamer does not need a social life. All we need is games and a financial means to support our games. Social lives are for the social heathens who shalt rot in hell for all eternity and beyond!

Yes "social heathens" go on to get married have kids and have friends outside of the internet and know how to communicate with fellow human beings in a social situation. Gaming like everything else can become addictive if you cant trike a balance it can destroy your life just like any other drug.

I have to agree with you there. I am just starting a social life. If all you do is game you can get very depressed and loose grip on reality.

When all you do is play games day in and day out and you dont go out with friends or girlfriend you loose the ability to socially interact with others. And you can spot people like that from a mile away in the way the act and behave.
