Gt 220 1080p stutter

Sup guys

I bought the GT 220 for my existing pc and I am using it for my HTPC at the moment. It plays 720p and 1080p rips fine (With film strips) but when i tried the 1080p full screen rip of 'Up' it stutters a bit. Any way to try and sort this? I use the Bravia's Motionflow with my HD movies and it gets pretty bad when the movie stutters :( Any suggestions (besides getting a new card ;/)

Thanks!

No it should be fine for 1080p. It's an htpc card really. What hz are you running at? Try changing to 24hz and see what happens.

The G220 is actually a really low end card, perhaps see if it is not handing over the tasks to the CPU.

What O/S are you using on the HTPC?

Running on Vista 64 bit at the moment, gonna move to Kubuntu 9.10 for VDPAU support. But i have the latest drivers installed with the codecs as well..bought the GT 220 solely for HD playback and its disappointing..From the forums i read up on it seemed adequate enough..

CPU usage is quite low during HD 720p playback so its not that..how do i get the CPU to actually do some work as well maybe?

It might be then, but there might be other factors involved, which is still to see if it is handing processes over to the CPU instead of doing it. If it is the card might need to be RMAed, the drivers might be the problem, there might be a player problem etc...

Not sure with Nvidia, there might be away in the control panel to do this. But it is driver specific though.

Mmmh i will check with my GT220, i bought it on Saturdday as a intrim card till i get my GTX 295 back from servicing.. You running a dual monitor Setup? VGA or HDMI? Let you know how it goes.

Cool pls check :D Running via HDMI.. Do u have a full screen rip of something at 1080p ?

Okay so i tried a 720p item still waiting for a 1080p item, but i was running dual screens at the time of the test i never can across any stutter just a little lag and then video speed up for a second to catch up but audio remains unchanged. not sure if that helps but will try the 1080p item tonight sorry for the late reply.

I think it is because it is handing it to the CPU in your case. I've seen an Intel GMA500 run 720p with a little stutter and that is kak

Hmmm. Maybe it is more visible since i am running it on a Bravia 40" ? I could watch a 720p rip fine on my onboard 6150 on a 19inch before..

Sweet let me know what you find..What monitor will you be running it on? My processor is AMD X2 4600+, OS: Vista 64bit and I have 3 GB of DDR2 800 RAM.

could be a codec problem go to http://shark007.net/ n download the codec pack if u got a 64 bit os download the 64 codec pack as well as the 32 bit.

I am using the latest version of K-lite, it is well maintained so I'm sure that is not the problem..

I have read that the card supports VDPAU (on linux) and PureVideo in Windows, so it minimizes CPU usage. During playback my CPU usage is around 10-15 % depending on other processes..
