nVidia retracts WHQL-certified "GPU Killing Drivers"

shoh, thanks for the info.... I was wondering why my temps on my GTX280 were so high for a while, I even went so far as to remove the heatsink and apply Artic Silver 5 (not a bad thing though). I struggled to get the temps down. Then I suddenly found teh driver download (I check every 2 or three weeks) was 196.25 rather 196.75 that i had installed and was completely confused. Did a full uninstall and installed the 196.25 ones and temps dropped WAY down from 90°C to 70°C - during gameplay thats a MASSIVE 20°C change.... i really can't get over it, thats a HUGE blunder. . .
