Core I7 vs Phennom II x4

Good day gents..

Good to see some familiar MB faces :D

Stick around, and let me know what you like/dont like etc.

***on topic :D

Nice article

Unfortunately, a download service would just cost us way too much in hosting fees at this point.

Its still early days however, and all suggestions are welcome, so thanks for your input.

Yeah, but maybe a thread (sticky :p) with direct links to a site(preferably local) with the file, eg XP SP3 or a request thread where the OP explains where we can upload local content for other people? :o

Nice idea. We will definitely look into this more

LOL:D...Isn't that a bit off topic...but anyway...Getting back to the I7 vs Phenom2 x4. Its very much dependend on personal taste and how much you'd wanna spend on building or buying a system featuring these cpu's.

Im an AMD fan boy and i'll always support them!!

As far as I can tell the AMD's are still way cheaper than the intel cpu's and in a world where people are trying to save money rather than splash it on expenssive hardware, the AMD mite just be edging ahead!!

I totally agree. Both of them are amazingly fast and for the price difference between the 2, you can get a better gpu which will give you more frames than the jump to the Core I7.

Well, one of the test systems was a Q9550 and they did perform very similar, depending on the game, but yeah, with the correct mobo and a nice OC with some water cooling, I think it might. :D

Ive been uber happy with every single amd system I have ever built, ive never had any issues..Ive owned 3200+ 4400+ 5200+ and currently i own a 3,1 Ghz 6000+ and I will most certainly buy a phenom2 x4 towards the middle part of this year!!

I want no issues and loads of performance.

Let me just start with, I am not an Intel fabboi. :p My first AMD was the Athlon 600Mhz, you remember, the Slot A cpu and that thing was fast. :D But with my current GPU, the 6000+ is to slow, the Phenom I had the TLB issue, so I went with the E8400 and can't complain about the cpu at all.

Sadly, I don't think there will be any upgrades this year for me. :(
