Anyone play this game? Imagine a linear S.T.A.L.K.E.R taking place in the Russian subway, with graphics that blow Crysis clean out of the water.

This has to be the most captivating, atmospheric game I've ever played. Totally brilliant!

Im actually shelving it for later, because my 9600 GT doesn't support DX11.

Anyone else played it?

Since its only being released on the 15th of April locally that would be a bit hard.

Y'know, theres this thing called STEAM (www.steampowered.com). On this website, you can find, among other things,PC games. One of them is called Metro 2033 ($49.99 USD). At the current exchange rate, That amounts to roughly R365 some odd rands. While that is almost R100.00 rands more expensive than Kalahari, or Take 2. I wanted the game, so I BOUGHT the game.

Like i said above... i never said anything, just saying since its not released locally till 15 April it would be hard. That is all. I'll wait for the xbox version.

I'm definately waiting for STALKER players to compare the game before buying it...Metro sounds good, but So did that LONDON something or other game... that failed epically

That'd be... Hellgate: London?

Anyhow, while the setting will remind you of STALKER, Its linear. The pacing can be compared to games like Wolfenstein, Half Life 1-2 etc. Weapons are .....standard, but sightly modifiable (READ: GENERIC).

Once i've played it ill let you know. Its more linear so comparing it directly to stalker would be a waste. I watched the video review on IGN and the guy said some of the stealth section where a bit miffy as one missed knife throw and the entire level's enemies would know exactly where u are.

quite difference between metro 2033 and hellgate london. one was fucked up royally by bill roper and other was work on by part of the original stalker team before the split. can't really compare a fps with a mmo-action-rpg-fps. however be interesting to see how hellgate resurrection fairs in the west when it finally launched via hanbitsoft's studios in usa...

...we can trust omega's "review" ;)

I'm going to hold off since I think it will make a joke of my PC. It doesn't look very well optimised. If I had a choice I'd get the Xbox version since it seems to run well on the platform.

What is that suppose to mean?

Actually, it's not as bad as you might think. (It's NOT Crysis ) But yeah,to fully appreciate it, you need DX11 with all the bells and whistles
