Metro 2033? Your thoughts?

i bought the game through Steam and finished it already, and might I add it's an absolutely astounding game especially with DX11.
i can clearly see a diff between my HD5970 and my brothers GTX275.
i loved this game, get it. GO GO GO
 
As I understand it, the PC version has been massively optimised for DX11. And if you can't do DX11, it's ugly. :P

I'm very tempted to buy this myself, although I'd grab it on Xbox. I love an atmospheric shooter, and I really like the setting of this game.
 
Think I may be giving this one a skip. The reviews are not amazing, and I have an overload of games at the moment. Maybe later if I get the time.
 
Yah, theres alot to play at the moment!

ANyone tried out Just Cause 2 yet? (sorry i realise its not exactly a FPS and probably shouldnt be compared in this post)
 
Just finished this one up.

Its actually quite good and really atmospheric. I played for the most part on max settings at 50-80FPS but there were a few points in the game that just really slashed the framerate all the way down to 20. That said, the game is has excellent visuals and shows off quite well some of the new things DX11 has to offer.

The game does have QUITE a few instakills in it, mostly in the form of traps/tripwires, so if you do get it, keep your eyes open. Checkpoints are very frequent though, so if you don't, you won't lose more than a minute's worth of progress.

I give it a thumbs up. Story is... so so, but sufficient to keep the game moving. The world they've created is "believable", the stuff of nightmares and they unveil it well. Gunplay/shooting is excellent. Stealth is actually very good but the amount enemies stealth works against is unfortunately limited. The scavenging, gas masks, chargeable batteries and other little things they've added work quite well in drawing you in and feeling just how insanely harsh an environment Moscow has become.
 
Think I may go pick this up. It's been a while since I had a FPS fix. This or maybe Bioshock 2, have not gotten around to it yet.
 
It's pretty good. Not fast paced at all, but tense as hell. You can cut the atmosphere with a knife.
 
Meh. Didn't enjoy Metro2033 at all. Seems like some sort of low budget horror game. I think Stalker: Call of Pripyat is much better.
 
I am on my second play through at the moment,I think it is a very cool game.Plus on my system in Dx11 its look damn good and getting between 58-89 fps in all areas.
