Popular opensource/free games played online in South Africa?

I played a game called Babo Violent 2 some time ago and that was quite fun. I haven't played any online games now in a year or two and wondered if there are some free games that are being played a lot?

I love those time killers. They are made by very creative minds who share their creativity but aren't limited to the constraints of budgets and deadlines. I think this is a part of our beloved hobby that won't ever die and will just get better as the tools for these developers become better. The same goes for modders whose praise come from the number of downloads for their content

You can get it locally at DO Gaming
It is a large download though and it looks as though one may have to spend almost as long downloading updates.

I tried RoseZA once but was unsportingly attacked and killed will looking at my syats or trying to buy supplies or something to that effect.
