Azimuth's guide to not looking stupid when posting comments online

Hehe. Its just to hard too use propper gramar and speling on forums. I almost never comment on anyones reviews and I hate DRm with a hate fueld rage. :P

Seriously though, you make some fair points. Though I don't post enough to make many, if any of those mistakes. Except for the whining part maybe. :)

Ok so Mrs azimuth...You said this in another thread, please explain how this doesn't make you look like 1 of the people you described in that write up.

WOW, I'M SURE YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON TO EVER MAKE THAT COMMENT, LOL.

I've been playing guitar for 17 years already. Am I allowed to play Guitar Hero - which, by the way, IS A FUCKING GAME, WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT - now? Thanks.

Ugh. It's like telling people who love FPSes to go shoot a real gun.

Oh and before you get all grumpy, Its just a simple question that deserves a fair answer:cool:

I'm not sure what you think is wrong with that comment, Joker. Moreover, my article deals with comments under articles. The comment you've quoted there was from a discussion on the forum. Different things.

The first rule of posting guides is that your guide should be titled " #usename's EPIC #subject.title starter guide."

Too lazy to bother posting the whole thread, point im trying to make, that was a dumb ass comment lol, no disrespect::)

Everyone does it at some stage or another, we all moan and bitch about things that aren't perfect in our gaming world, and don't try telling me none of you are guilty of any of the things mentioned in that write up.

No one on God's green earth has a 100% spelling and grammar record while posting on forums.
Everyone at some or other stage in their life turns into a fan boy/girl. For instance I know you worship the ground Gears of war was made on:p That automatically turns you into a fan girl and you'll defend it to the end of the earth cause its something you love, Don't argue..this is a fact!!

lol and No im not picking on azimuth, just picking on the write up. Pointless and Pedantic ;)

Well. Not quite.

The post you're complaining about was in response to a dumb post. I'm bored of those predictable, obvious comments every time there's a discussion about Guitar Hero or Rock Band- someone always runs it out - and I don't see what the problem with saying this is. I don't think the other guy was especially offended or anything, so what's wrong here?

As for Gears of War - yes, I'm a huge fan, and I think it's a great series of games. Do I expect everyone else to agree with me? No.

As for "pointless and pedantic", perhaps you should try working for five years as a journalist, and not getting a bit sick of the same rubbish over and over. Really, posting an article about something, only to be assaulted by a bunch of people because of this, that, or the other perceived slight gets old fast.

Also, learn to laugh at yourself a bit, eh? ;)

Posting an article about how lame leet-speak is and then stating how anyone who disagrees is "73h_5uck" should be rather interesting. :p

I've never seen the point in needing good grammar or spelling on a forum/ or comments section.

As long as it's understandable should be enough. Obviously the language being used shouldn't be butchered to death but the odd 'to' when 'too' was correct or a missing apostrophe is not nearly enough to warrant a call the the language police.

This is not a school essay we are writing, contrary to what might otherwise be believed.
