Mortal Kombat - E3 Footage

There is some EPIC gameplay footage of the new Mortal Kombat game (due June 2011) on gamespot.com. Go check it out. They show Scorpion's fatality, as well as a pit fatality and kung-lao's fatality as teased in the trailer.

Trust me when I say the fatalities are VERY intense. I cannot wait for this game. It's got BEST GAME EVER written all over it. Well, I'm a biased MK fan, so take it with a pinch of salt. But seriously. What a good looking game.

Next year cannot come quick enough.
 
I hear you man. Been playing mk since the year it was released(I really never gone through life without mk I was 4 when it came out and I was hitting the local cafe to play it:D) I never really liked the 3d camera of the newer ones and my 2 fav mks are mk 2 and mk 3(I did however love the mk ultimate with all the characters).

Glad to see this is going back to its roots:D
 
LOL I love chatting to guys who've been around since the "corner cafe" days. I remember getting so excited when I discovered the "moves" to a fatality. I wrote down every single little thing and use to study the moves list for every character (not that many back then).

Seeing this new mortal kombat gave me the same warm and fuzzy feeling I had when I saw the game for the very first time so many years ago.
 
Same here. I mean no one could beat me. The older kids were like wow look at this youngster who can barely see the screen.

My dad took me the the cafe every night back then. I knew all the moves off by heart. Scorpion was my fav and sub-zero. I beaten every mk I have every played. I loved the test your might from the first one:D

Wasn't it Scorpion who had the easiest fatality? Up, Up, Down or something :p In any case, I nearly always cocked up the fatalities. Which was kak when you had a crowd standing around you :) I had a buddy at school who knew everything off by heart - you could ask him randomly one day and he'd tell you all the moves off by heart.
 
I was such an MK freak when I was younger I was considdering the dragon tatoo, and that dragon logo was on all my books, space case etc. Me and my mates memorized every friendship, babality, animality, brutality EVERYTHING for the series :D
 
I found Lui-Kangs fatality easier... ;)

Mortal Kombat 2 really upped the bar when it came to fatalities. You had 2 fatalities, a friendship, a babality and then the individual stage fatalities...eeeek!!!

Baraka's fatality in MK2 where he impales the guy and lifts him up was my fave.

I was 4 when mk came out and still manage to be a god. My friend and his brother also could never beat me. Scorpion was ultimate.

mk 2 I loved reptile and the fact you could play with shang shung ruled. Oh not to mention that sho khan was epic boss with his hammer.

Mk 3 was awesome for there multi levels. Except the one in the soul cavern were it would loop levels each time you knocked the dude above it. I love the stage fatality for the bell tower. Lui kang made me laugh when you did it to him on that stage.

Mk 4 was fun but meh to the others.

Edit lets not forget striker and cyrax. Strikers grenades and his gun and when you fly and grabs the dude with his stick and chucks him.
 
And the fun thing was Mortal Kombat didnt require extreme graphics,even though it was a fighting game...

The last few were on PC,any idea if these are going to be on PC?
 
Actually back in the day they had very good graphics. Oh and the gore made the game so popular.

Mk only came out on pc with mk4 thats it and I think this is only on the ps3 nd xbox.
 
None of the other Mortal Kombats matter now. What does matter however is that THIS Mortal Kombat is as EPIC as the first one was. By the looks of the video footage it's set to be just that! The pace of the fighting is MUCH faster, the combos are excellent same as in MK 3 and the fatalities are seriously gory. Even the environments are dark and mysterious...just as they should be :)

I can only hope that whoever did MK2's music is working on this project because it had the BEST soundtrack. MK3's wasn't bad either mind you. As long as they keep the music style within those 2 MK's then it will be brilliant.

Next year this time folks, we'll have our beloved Mortal Kombat back.

I can only hope that I'm blessed enough to be alive in a year's time to experience this game.

I would like to add that this was officially my 1000th post! And it was Mortal Kombat related! Couldn't have turned out better!!!
