I backed up all of my work emails last year from outlook (it saved as email backup.pst) and now I can't get it to reflect these items when I open up my existing outlook...

You need to paste that PST into your Outlook folder which is normally under C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
Depending on what OS you are running of course. What are you on?
