Oh great, I deleted my post instead of editing it again
(Saw on the 2nd page of the thread the total damage).
My uncle got one the other day (also 768mb) and he's going nuts over it, so I can only imagine 2x that.

phoned up computersonly to get a progress update on my order..
they didn't ship yesterday due to the one card testing faulty, so they got a replacement and only shipping out today

Ja man, these things are very well priced. I paid R2300 for my card so 2 will be R4600 and the fact that they will beat a GTX480 just makes the price just so much better. well worth the wait. Just have to wait a little more for my second card. the reason i got the gigabyte is because I wanted the 1gb and that its got 2x fans, better for overclocking. I WANT MY SECOND CARD. have you done some tests and benches yet(heaven, 3Dmark 06, vantage, etc.)? Please post them.

sounds weird, but atleast they weren't all meh, me getting a doa card, and having to rma from the get go...

anyhows. i included the bench i did with the 4850 installed (a bit of a boo boo, because cnq was on
) plus the case looks different on the inside now, cablings been sorted (mostly) and the psu is right way up and for all speeds and voltages at stock i think it's pretty darn impressive

There is no real big improvement on the 1gb. the difference is really small. the higher res show a slight gain but nothing really to right home about. you can get better performance by just oc your 768mb or 1gb. I would like to see the oc ability of this card but nothing really stands out with it. It still only has a 256bit bus. so i dont think it will do much on the oc side either. However i could be wrong.

Only thing I see which is disturbing is your stock CPU cooler....

The latest info that i got was that they were still waiting for stock. They should have it in two weeks. They have got it on back order. Tank, you will be the first to know when i get it. I really cant wait. I wish it was already here. What i am gonna do is, when i get the other card i am gonna format my SSD and put a nice fresh copy of WIN7 on. Then i am gonna put the latest drivers on and install all my games also fresh. Then 3D mark vantage then heaven. Ten the scores should reflect best. I am just worried about driver conflict from moving from ati to Nvidia. I have done the driver sweeper but still want a fresh copy. everything seems to run so much better with a fresh copy of 7. haha
