Does anyone else get shivers down their spine when they read that Microsoft is doing something for "free"? I can just image the horrible catch that's waiting for consumers....
Does Games for windows Live even work in this Country?

Nope..
You have to create a Gamertag and set the region to US or somewhere where it is supported. I struggled so many hours with that bs..
Apparently region support is coming to RSA though.
You can create a gamertag where ever u want, if ur PC isn't set to UK or some live friendly area it wont work.

Considering we know next to nothing about the title implying that there "has" to be some sort of catch seems rather daft to me.
As for the general mechanic AOEIII already leant itself to the idea of a MMO. Leveling you home city and builiding up a deck of card you can use to boost game.
This is in all likeley hood a ploy to get more people to use Games For Windows live, Microsoft's own game distrobution platform, since its no doubt less common than Steam. They will also add a micro transaction system similar to that of BattleForge, a similar RTS/MMO/TCG title.
Lets wait and see, either way this is good news AOE is till one of my fav RTS title to date.

At the moment nope, but since live is coming to SA in the next few months yes, it will.
Guys just clear this up for me what does not work for the windows live? Before I make a fool of myself.
I got an email yesterday saying that I've been chosen for the closed beta.
