How about trying out
Disciples III: Renaissance demo and see if you like it?
Have you played Fallout 3? if you have not its a must get

Dragon age is also and RPG you should look into. Other than those few the rpg is out of luck atm nobody else really making RPG

I am not sure what RAGE is but might be another hybrid(oblivion mixed with borderlands) but worth looking out for.

Or go retro and get Baldurs Gate 2

Haha yeah Baldur's Gate sounds like the way to go

I have played fallout 3, but I'm hesitant to install it again for a lame reason - I don't want to install Windows Live Will prolly get over it eventually just really yanks my chain.

Dragon Age was pretty cool, never finished it though, should prolly give it another shot.

What is disciples III like ? is it well refined or buggy ?

disciples III Play the demo and see for yourself its more like a heroes type of game play bleh dam okay its turn base strategy game not rpg.

It has a lot of short comings story not great voice acting not brillant just to get by. this game you really need to play the demo first to make up your mind.
