Need for Speed World Goes Free to Play

The Need for Speed World team is pleased to announce we are removing the Level 10 cap starting today and making the game completely Free to Play.

We've listened to the comments from our community and we've decided to make a change. Previously, gamers who didn't buy the Starter Pack were unable to progress past Level 10. Beginning today, anyone will be able to race all the way through to Level 50 and will have full access to the entire World, all Events and Game Modes, both present and future.

In the next weeks and months we have some great new features coming including new cars, deep performance customization, a new world region and a co-op pursuit mode. With such cool content we wanted to make sure everyone has the chance to experience the complete game from Level 1 to Level 50. For more info about these new features click here.

Our VIP gamers who bought the Starter Pack before today (Sept 8th) will soon be receiving a little present from us in the form of three free 7-day car rental vouchers for the BMW M3 GTR, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the Audi R8 4.2 FSI Quattro. We wanted a way to say "Thank you" to our most ardent fans and cool, fast cars seemed to be the best way. We'll be emailing codes to all the qualified gamers shortly. Poor okes who already paid for the game, getting a couple of cars for 7 seven days hardly seems fair for supporting the game from the get go.

I cant say for sure, but from what I read in the forums about $20 or so? Admittedly its not a lot of cash but still, EA could have been a bit more generous.

BTW the game goes back to its roots and feels a lot like the good old days of NFS underground 1 and 2, well worth the 700mb download.

its only 700meg wow that is so small.

Underground is not nfs roots. Hot pursuit is pure win.
 
im gonna ask the guys at iGame if they can host the file locally for the rest of us to download it :)

Try but it downloads via a launcher, the actual download is 7 megs if I remember correctly, the rest is all from the launcher. I'm not even sure where it saves it to on the hard drive.

Best NFS in years - mixture of hot pursuit/most wanted/underground

Played it a bit today. It's very much like most wanted, with the exception of tons of people driving around you in free roam. It's not too bad so far, especially for the price. :)

When you freeroaming you can't crash into each other.
Only in races can you crash into each other one thing that makes it sad here is the high ping sometimes I came in 3de yet my results showed 2de haha.

Its a blessing, there is nothing more annoying then trying to get to the next race or taking a lazy sunday drive and having a 8 year old ram you from behind repeatedly.

LOl but it takes away from realism, Imagin you could have traffic jam reports, and then you have to take a different roots


/me remembers starting pile ups in GTA San Andreas :D
